THE PRESS MEDIA RESPONDED TO DURGA POOJA ISSUES ------------------------------------------------------------------- Allahabad, 25, Sept2013 Today, it was nice to see that the major Hindi dailies, like Dainik Jagran, Amar Ujala, Compact and United Bharat have published the Press Release of the Bengali Welfare Association, concerning with issues of Durga Puja immersion and other matter related with the festival. It may be recalled, in the last two meetings, with the district administration, concerning with festival, I, on behalf of the BWA, have raised two vital issues, concerning with the idols immersion and procuring of an affidavit from the makers of the deities of Allahabad that they have not used any synthetic color in making of the idols. In fact the buyers of the deities are not competent enough to gauge the chemistry of the color, whereas, the idol makers knew the fact what actually they are using for the makeup of the idols. Regarding the matter of immersion, the BWA have made their stand clear, before the district administration, that the BWA is bent upon that the Single idols of Mother Goddess be immersed in the Boat club and the group deities be immersed, at Saraswati Ghat, which could give too much of solace to the devotees, who throng there for the immersion I could understand well that the publication in the press media may have given some signals to the district administration, in this regard, but it will not break too much of ice for us, until and unless all Durga Puja Barwaris of the city come in single platform to show their unity to compel the district administration to take a necessary steps, in this regard. And hence, I took no time to contact Mr. Sudeep Mukherjee ( Raja), the General Secretary of the Conelgang Barwari, the oldest Barwari of the city, to come forward to take the leadership and host a meeting of the all Durga Puja Barwaris of the city, as well, all like minded social organizations to form like mindedness for the bifurcation of the immersion issue. It is being requested to him to convene the said meeting in their Puja Pandal or in the Kali Badi, where ever it suits them, more before the start of the festival
