THE PRINCESS WHO STOOD ON HER OWN 2 FEET.....BY JEANNE DESY SUMMARY: A rich and intelligent Princess who is very lonely is given a dog to keep her company. She and the dog become inseperable. When a Prince arrives from a neighbouring kingdom all seems to be well untill he discovers that she is taller than he is, so she decides to give up walking. Then she discovers that he is jealous because she is cleverer than him, so she decides to give up talking. However, when he wants her to get rid of the dog she refuses to do so for the dog has been her friend for a long time. When the dog suddenly dies, the Princess wraps him in her wedding dress and goes off to bury him herself, telling the Prince, whom she meets on the way, that she does not love him. The Prince leaves determined not to return. In the moonlight she sees another Prince who bears a strong resemblance to the dog. Despite being shorter than her, he still loves her, telling her that sometimes it is necessary to die in order to be reborn if you want something as badly as he wants to marry the Princess.
