THE PROBLEM WITH STOLEN MONEY My brother woke up with a brilliant idea one day.He decided that he was going to become filthy rich.Just like that. He was no longer going to work as hard as he had done for the the past 5 years but he was going to get rich. Thus he promptly resigned from his job as a Manager in some Asian owned construction company;moved out of the so called company house in th middle of a densely populated township and gave back the rackety bakkie with a company logo also known as a company car. Within 6 months he was driving a very nice executive saloon and had 3 other personal cars.He was living in the low populated suburb of area 15 and was in the process of constructing 2 other houses in a new area then known as Area 47. In less than a year my brother had undergone a complete transformation. One evening I sat in the living room in my brothers house and watched in awe as my brother counted bundles of money which he had brought from his car in 3 brief cases. After he finished counting, my brother quickly rose up, winked at me, put the money in his brief case and disappeared in the direction of his bed room where his wife had gone to sleep some hours earlier. Early next morning I asked my brother if he could share some money for me to go for a hair cut and I was surprised when he told me that he did not have any money. Really? I wonderd what had happened to all the money that I had seen in the night. As if reading my thoughts my brother looked at me and said: You think am lying when I say I dont have money? That money you saw last night is not mine.I am just a middle man.One day you will discover what that means.the money belongs to other people. All I get from the deal is commission. So technically speaking the money that you saw is not mine because I have not been given my commision yet ok? You understand Mfana? i pretended to understand but in truth I did not.If my brother was able to buy all those good things for himself and his wife, it meant that a good part of the money that he carried was his. Simple childs logic.Whether he wanted to call the money commission or what what..(chani chani) that was up to him. Then one night as I watched my brother counting the money that he had said was technically not his a brilliant idea also came to mind.If i stole a part of this money it meant that technically speaking, I was not stealing from my brother because technically speaking, the money was not his remember! Now my problem became how to steal the money that did not belong to my brother from briefcases that obviously had pass codes. You see... that is the problem with stolen money! I will continue the story another time! Ndikungokumvelanui mukamatio Capital Hill Capital Hill..pali chani paja?
