THE PROPHETIC PATTERNS FOR PRAYING AT MIDNIGHT IN THE SEASON OF TISHREI (1) Friday, 23 Tishrie, 5775 = Friday, October 17, 2014 “Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season? Or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?” Job 38:32. As we have seen, the Jewish month of Tishrei, which falls within the Gregorian months of September and October, is one of the most strategic months of the year. Indeed the 10th day of Tishrei, which is the Day of Atonement is “Israel’s most sacred day of the year…” It is a time of holy convocation, solemn assembly and affliction of soul. Midnight prayer at this time is as strategic and significant as the tenth month season. To usher out Libra, the balances of the Redeemer’s atonement with its sweet influences of mercy and grace: 1. CALL FORTH THE OUTPOURING OF THE SPIRIT OF GRACE AND MULTIPLICATION IN THE SEVENTH MONTH: “And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadadrimmon in the valley of Megiddon. And the land shall mourn, every family apart; the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart.” (Zechariah 12:10-12). 2. ENGAGE IN THE FAST OF THE SEVENTH MONTH: “Thus says the Lord of Hosts…the fast of the seventh [month]…shall be joy and gladness and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah. Therefore love truth and peace.” (Zechariah 8:19). 3. BLOW THE TRUMPET AND CALL FOR A SOLEMN ASSEMBLY FOR ATONEMENT: “Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly: Gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, and those that suck the breasts: let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet. Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God.” (Joel 2:15-17).
