THE QPR first team squad spread some much-needed Christmas cheer to youngsters at two venues across West London on Thursday afternoon. Half of Harry Redknapps squad visited the children’s ward at Hillingdon Hospital, whilst the remainder travelled to the Jack Tizard School – a school for children with severe learning difficulties (SLD) including profound and multiple learning difficulties (PMLD) – situated next door to Loftus Road. The squad handed out presents and participated in a few games, whilst also spending time posing for photos and signing autographs. R’s midfielder Niko Kranjcar, who attended the Jack Tizard visit, told qpr.co.uk: “It’s nice to come out and see the children at this time of year. “Our appearance will only make a small difference to them, but it’s great to give something back to them. “It was lovely to see their smiling faces when we handed out the presents.” Fellow midfield ace, Leroy Fer, added: “Christmas is a lovely time of year and it’s really about the children, but the staff at Jack Tizard are remarkable as well. “They’re so strong and so dedicated to their jobs, so it’s nice to be able to get to see what they do on a daily basis. They all seemed to get a real buzz from us being there. “It was a really uplifting afternoon.”
