THE RACE HAS BEGUN IN EARNEST My dear people, This is to formally inform you that on Wednesday 10th September 2014, I took a major step in the process of my quest to represent the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, Zone C, by paying for the Expression of Interest Form, thereby formalizing my desire to represent our people in the Senate in 2015 under the platform of the APC. I ask you all to pray for me in the months ahead, as I assure you that this race is much easier to win than most people are prepared to acknowledge at this point, and that I will not only give this race my very best, but my all. I can assure you that, in life, not many things are as difficult as they seem, and in our own case where the facts of our deprivation and daily existence stare us in the face so glaringly, it will take extraordinary timidity for our people not to desire to set themselves free once and for all when this opportunity knocks at the door, yet again, in February, next year. I am deeply committed to this cause, and I urge all of you to rally round me, overcome your doubts, and lets work hard together to create the future of our dreams for the benefit of the generations coming behind us, who will not forgive us, when they come to the realization that, in our time, we had the opportunity to change things for the better, and did nothing. Because I will not make empty promises, and recycle well worn ones, like is already beginning to make the rounds on Apa State creation, as election draws near yet again, I have outlined in clear terms, my manifesto and plan of action at my campaign website - okaleya.org. I urge you all to review the commitments I have made in the plan of action, and let me have your honest feedback. As always, I will never promise what I cannot deliver, and whatever I promise, I expect to be held accountable to each and every one of them. That is why Okaleya should be the creed for our new brand of politics, so that our politicians can make the process of politicking interesting by seeing themselves as servants of the people and agents of change, rather than their masters. I am not asking anyone to leave their political parties and move over to mine, to enable us actualize this objective. All I ask is that people should vote according to their innermost conscience, completely oblivious of political party affiliation, knowing that, at the end of the day, our party affiliations will not deliver the water we need to drink, or the schools our kids need, or the healthcare we all need, to mention a few. It is good people who will do this for us. And that is why, apart from the fact that I have decided to leave my comfort zone and step forward to offer my services to the people, I also encourage all our young men and women who believe that they share a similar passion as I do for service to our fatherland, to step forward and aspire for office. At the end of it all, I am not saying that I am the only one qualified to occupy this office of Senator for our people, or any other office for that matter, but at least, lets practice true democracy, and allow the people to exercise their free choice. Finally, I call on those who want to work actively and selflessly in this campaign for effective change in our land to stand up and volunteer to do so. We do not delude ourselves by thinking that we can muster the enormous material resources available to the other contenders to this position, but we are confident that with God on our side, and the firm resolve of our people not to mortgage their heritage anymore, nothing can stand in our way. The volunteer forms will be sent to any interested volunteer for completion and return as soon as I get an email to that effect. The email address is madakiameh@hotmail. There is no time at all anymore, since the elections are less than six months away, so the time to firm up the structure for the campaign and commence full mobilization of our youths, women and men for ultimate victory, is now. Best wishes always, Chief Madaki Omadachi Ameh Senatorial Aspirant, Benue South Senatorial District, Zone C.
