THE RECOMMENDED TIMES FOR DUA It is important that the one who desires that his/her Dua be answered utilize these times, and ensure that his/her Dua be more frequent and sincere during them. 1) Dua in the Last part of Night. Allah describes the True Believers are those who And in the Hours of Dawn, they seek forgiveness from their Lord. (Sura Dhariyat ayat 18) Not only that Allah Himself comes down to his servant, and opens the doors of Mercy and Forgiveness. Abu Hurairah RA Narrated The Prophet Peace be upon him Said Our Lord descends every night, during the last part of it, to the skies of this world, and asks Who is making dua to Me, so that I will respond to him? Who is asking Me, So that I can give him? Who is asking for My forgiveness, so that I can give him? (Bukhari & Muslim). 2) Dua When Adhaan is Called, When it Rains. This is Based on the Hadith of (The Prophet Peace be upon him) Two Duas are never rejected, or rarely rejected: The Dua during the Call of Adhaan, and the Dua during the Calamities, when the two armies attack each other. (Sunan Abu Dawood, Ibn Majah & Authenticated by Shaik Albani in Sahih Al Jami # 3079). In another report. Seek the response of your Duas when the armies meet, and when the Adhaan is called & when the rain falls. (Reported by Imaam Shafai in Al Umm, Authenthicated in Al Sahiha # 1469 by Shaik Albani). 3) Dua Between Adhaan & Iqamah. This is one of the Best times for the Dua to be accepted, what a blessing it is! Five times every day. Anas bin Malik RA Narrated The Prophet Peace be upon him Said The Dus Sain between Adhaan & Iqamah is not rejected, therefore offer your dua at this time. (Musnad Ahmed, Abu Dawood, Tirmidhi & also Sahih Al Jami bu Shaik Albani # 3408). 4) Dua While Prostration-Sujood. The most Nobel Posture that a worshipper can be in, for it is a symbol of humility & Submisiveness. Abu Hurairah RA Narrated The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, The Closest any worshipper can be to his Lord while he/she is in prostration, so increase your duas in it. (Sahih Muslim, Abu Dawood, Sunan Nasai & Sahih Al Jami by Shaik Albani # 1175). 5) Dua after Fathiha. After finishing the recitation of Sura Al Fathiha in Salah, one is encouraged to say Amin loud, for The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, When the Imaam Says Amin you say Amin behind him, because whoever’s Amin coincides with Amin the Angles will have all his sins Forgiven. (Bukhari & Muslim). 6) An Hour on Friday. There is a special hour on Friday, during which all prayers are accepted and amswered by Allah, all Glory & Peace be to him. Abu Hurairah RA Narrated The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, On Friday there is an hour during which, if any Muslim is standing in front of Allah in Salah, & asking Allah for something Good, he will be Granted his Request. Then He made a sign with his hands, Showing that it was very short period. (Bukhari). There are nemourous opinions as to the exact hour of Friday during which this occurs, but two opinions are strongest When the imaam sits down between the two khutbah until the end of khutbah, and after the Asr salah till the Maghrib. Imaam Ibn Qayyim preferred the second over the first. This is because of the this Hadith. “ Friday has twelve hours. There is one hour during which if a muslim asks Allah anything, Allah will give it to him, So find it during the last hour after Asr”. (Sunan Abu Dawood, Sunan Nasai). 7) Before Drinking ZamZam. Before drinking zamzam one is encouraged to make dua, as The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, “The water of zamzam is for whatever it has been drunk for. (Musnad Ahmed, Ibn Majah Authenticated as Sahih by Shaik Albani in Sahih Al Jami # 5502). Dua During Ramadan. The month of Ramadan is a Blessed month, during which the Quran was revealed, and process of Wahi Startes upon The Prophet Peace be upon him. Therefore the dua of Ramadan is a Blessed dua and understood from a Hadith. When the Ramadan comes, the doors of mercy(In another Hadith there is word The Paradise) are opened, the doors of Hell are closed, the shayatin are chained up. (Bukhari & Muslim). With this Hadith it can be inferred that the dua during Ramadan has greater chances of being accepted, as the gates of Paradise & Mercy are opened. 9) Dua on the Night of Layla tul Qadr. During this Blessed Night, when the angels descends down to earth with angel Jibril & when the Earth is overwhelmed with peace until the break of Dawn, and the doors of paradise is opened, the worshipper is encouraged to turn to Allah & to ask the needs of this world & Hereafter. Refer Sura Qadr. Aisha RA narrated once she asked The Prophet Peace be upon him what dua should I make on Layla tul Qadr ? The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, Allahumma innaka Affuwun tuhibbul afwa fafuanni. (Trimizi, Ibn Majah & Authrticated by Shaik Abani Sahih Al Jami # 4423). 10) Dua Inside Kabah. The Kabah is the Holiest Places of all, and the first masjid to be build for mankind. It is a sanctuary that has no comparison in the entire world. Therefore, it is no surprise that dua at this blessed place has greater chances of being answered. Uasmah bin Zaid RA Narrated When Prophet Peace be upon him entered the Kabah, he made Dua in all the corners. (Sahih Muslim). 11) Dua at Safa and Marwa. It is narrated from authentic sunnah of Prophet Peace be upon him would make long duas at Safa & Marwa (Sahih Muslim). So muslim who is eager to follow the Sunnah should do likewise. 12) Dua After Stoning Jamarat. Like wise it is narrated that The Prophet Peace be upon him would stone the Small Jamarat, (One of three pillars stoned in the last three days of Hajj), then face Qibla raise his hands, & make dus for long time. He would stone the middle Jamarat & do the same. When he stoned the large Jamarat, he would depart without making dua. (Bukhari). 13) Dua on The Day of Arafah. Although Dua during the entire Hajj is a great act of worship, Dua on this particular day is of even greater importance. During this auspicious day, Allah will not feruse the requests of His Worshippers. Amr bin Al Aas RA narrated The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, “The best of all the duas are on the day of Arafah, & the best statements that I or any of The Prophets before me have said is, “La ilaaha illahu, Wahdahu La Sharika Lahu, Lahu wul Mulku wa la hul Hamdu, Wa huwwa ala kulli shaiin Qadir” (Tirmizi & Authenticated by Shaik Albani in Sahih Al Jami # 3274). 14) Dua on First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah. The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, There are no days which good deeds are more beloved to Allah than during these ten days. (Bukhari). This Hadith shows the general superiority if this time, & Dua is one of the most beloved act of Worship, we are encouraged to to make Duas during these tan days. 15) While Visiting the Sick. Umm Salama RA narrated that The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, “ When you visit the sick or Dead (body for Burial) then say good, because the angels say Amin to whatever you say”. (Muslim) 16) Before Zuhr. The Prophet Peace be upon him would pray four rakats after the sun had reached its zenith & he said, This is an hour during the gates of skies are opened, and I like that some of my good deeds are raised up (at this time). (Musnad Ahmed , Tirmizi). In this Hadith it is an indication that the dua at this time (Just before Zuhr Salah) has more chances of being responded to, as the gates of Heaven are opened. 17) At the Crowing of the Rooster. Abu Hurairah RA narrated The Prophet Peace be upon him Said, When you hear rooster crowning, then ask Allah for His Bounties, for it has seen angel, and when you hear donkey braying, then seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan, for it has seen Shaytan. (Bukhari , Muslim & Musnad Ahmed).
