THE REWARD FOR EVIL TEXT OF DISCOURSE: ROMANS 1:END Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: Among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ: To all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ. First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world. For God is my witness, whom I serve with my spirit in the gospel of his Son, that without ceasing I make mention of you always in my prayers; Making request, if by any means now at length I might have a prosperous journey by the will of God to come unto you. For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; That is, that I may be comforted together with you by the mutual faith both of you and me. Now I would not have you ignorant, brethren, that oftentimes I purposed to come unto you, (but was let hitherto,) that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among other Gentiles. I am debtor both to the Greeks, and to the Barbarians; both to the wise, and to the unwise. So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, the just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1: 1-32 KJV) YOUR CHILD REFLECTS WHO YOU ARE Beloved, how do you understand these portions? It is stated clearly that not all the Israelites are the seeds of Israel and not all the children of Abraham are his offsprings except Isaac. Now, if your postulations could be queried, how come that one is an offspring of the spirit and the other is of the flesh? What you are about to understand is that though all are born, some are Abrahams, heir and some are not. This gospel will be difficult for you to understand or interpret the portion when you are not spiritually directed. This is one of the Gospels, which you have to ponder critically over. I am convinced that you all are the children of God. Or can you tell why some children born of the same parents are of the spirit while others are of the flesh? Another interesting passage in the text is that which states that while the children were yet to born, it was destined that the elder would serve the younger. I want you to know those who are the children of God and those of the flesh. Now tell me, of all the people in the world, whose parents are they? Again, what is the meaning of the excerpt, time shall come when men shall be lovers of themselves and children shall be stubborn? Of the number of the people in this fold, how many are the chosen ones of God? How will you identify yourself as one of the elects of God? Who are the promised children of God? Only those who can interpret the meaning of this gospel are the elects of God. I have taught you many things, but you have refused to hearken unto the words, which is the cause of the problems you encounter. If you examine what our Lord Jesus Christ did, you would not have engaged in evil practices. But now, you continue indulging in the works of the flesh. If a man who abides in the flesh meets a woman who is also of the flesh, they are true replica. Since they tell lies, steal and indulge in all abominable acts, their offsprings will multiply their iniquities and because of this, you find many children being recalcitrant to their parents. This is because even their parents are not obedient to the words of God. The parents who have purified themselves produce good offsprings. Their children will equally produce virtues, which include obedience, kindness, among others. If you do good and submit yourself to God your children will benefit from the good that comes from you. Refer to Galatians 4:20-25. Now a mediator is not a mediator of one, but God is one. Is the law then against the promise of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have been life, verily righteousness should have been the law. But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith, which should afterward be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. Now you are enjoined to flee all carnalities but to surrender unto God, refrain from stealing, fornication, lies medication and all other forms of vices. If you are pure, having not defiled yourself, your children shall reflect your character. But if you engage in drinking, medications and other vices, your life will become worse than before. I have earlier told you about Adam, Job, Eli and other prophets of old concerning this issue. The life you lead certainly reflects on your children. It is stated that God shall slay down everything, which is inglorious unto the father and cast them into the furnace of fire. Which child of Solomon or Jacob was outstanding? It is because of our disobedience to God that we continue to suffer untold hardship. This disobedience makes us all to be classified as the children of the world. 1st TIMOTHY 3:8 records the promises of God to man. If you do not submit to God, you will also produce a child that will not hearken unto God. Consider the children surely beget obedient children. If you are a politician, you will produce at least a child with a worst trait of political ambition. You are plagued with problems as the aftermath of disobedience to the words of God. The children of God are not the same with the children of the world. You will realize that if a man moves from one woman to another, the woman also moves from one man to another. Consequently their children will be stubborn and worthless. Therefore, it could have been even better that they produce no child. If Abraham had disobeyed God, his son, Isaac could also have disobeyed him. For even before Abraham could have attempted to sacrifice Isaac unto God, he (Isaac) would have snatched the knife from his father and killed him. But being that Abraham had obeyed God, his offspring also obeyed him by surrendering unto him. You may further realize that when you seek after the earthly things, you will produce carnally minded children. But if you seek the heavenly things, which are spiritual, your children will be of services unto God. You can now find many people who, instead of seeking for the heavenly things, which are spiritual and beneficial, they rather pursue mundane things as cars, money, wealth and several other things of the world, which are vanity. What will you do with these earthly possessions? Recapitulate the case of Eli and Paul; they were stubborn and ungodly and also produced stubborn and ungodly children. This is the situation in the world. If you surrender unto God, and abide by his words, you will experience his blessings and your children will be useful unto God. Now, ask yourself this question upon all your children, how many of them are useful unto God? John the Baptist preached about the coming of the Savior. Since after that how many people possess the fear of God? How many of your children have the fear of God in them? Our Lord Jesus Christ, in his time gave himself unto God wholeheartedly, which was why he overcame the world. Who in the entire world has given himself up to God? Lamentation and sorrow have filled the world because people have refused to surrender wholly to God. A true brotherhood surrenders wholly to God and so has no problem whatsoever because he is of God. You are the cause of your downfall because you have not decided to surrender unto God; thus, instead of going forward, you go backwards. Many people now regret serving God, and if there is anyone in their families who has any interest in the work of God, they will mock and regard him as a lunatic. This is the problem of the world. You will find that John the Baptist served God diligently and his name was heard everywhere, even till today. This was because his parents obeyed God and abided by every injunction that came from God. If you marry a murderer or a thief, you will also produce children of like characteristics. Brotherhood, the New kingdom has come. Who among you abide by the teachings of this kingdom, rather you seek for astral beliefs, money, secret cults and other carnalities. This informs why your problems are numerous. You have purportedly rejected the way of God by refusing to comply with his teachings. MAN REAPS WHAT HE SOWETH Gods blessings are abundant to those who have accepted and surrendered unto him. This is the time for you to be born again and refrain from mundane acquisitions for these things keep you away from Gods blessings. You will not see the children of God in poverty. Mind you, Rome was not built in a day. This Kingdom must surely come to be glorified by all, and gradually, the promise of God must be fulfilled. Therefore, this is the time for you to submit unto God so as to gain entrance into the kingdom, and for your children to be useful vessels unto God. The Sabbath children in the kingdom gradually will see how God will use them. Submit yourself else what you sow, same shall you reap. Any child, who surrenders unto God, gets free from fornication, lies, stealing, fighting, medication and other vices. You will realize that, such a one is with God and God shall use him for eternity. Keep yourself in this way so that you gain entrance into the kingdom of God. One Archbishop was in search of God. The search took him to Jerusalem. He was called the Holy Ghost father, and was not married. Immediately he came here and realized his folly and submitted. This is what God expects from you, that anyone who surrenders himself unto him and do the rightful thing will surely be received and blessed by God. All they that were in the desert this is the right time for you to come to God and change for the better. But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none; And they that weep, as though they wept not; and they that rejoice, as though they rejoiced not; and they that buy, as though they possessed not; And they that use this world, as not abusing it: for the fashion of this world passeth away. But I would have you without carefulness. He that is unmarried careth for the things that belong to the Lord, how he may please the Lord: But he that is married careth for the things that are of the world, how he may please his wife. There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband. And this I speak for your own profit not that I may cast a snare upon you, but for that, which is comely, and that ye may attend upon the Lord without distraction. But if any man think that he behaveth himself uncomely toward his virgin, if she pass the flower of her age, and need so require, let him do what he will, he sinneth not: let them marry. Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will keep his virgin, doeth well. So then he that giveth her in marriage doeth well; but he that giveth her not in marriage doeth better. The wife is bound by the law as long as her husband liveth; but if her husband be dead, she is at liberty to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. But she is happier if she so abide, after my judgment: and I think also that I have the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 7: 29-40 KJV) How many women and men are ready to surrender themselves to the will of God and his service? How many virgins have you seen maintaining their sanctity and with the zeal to serve God? You are enjoined not to cause division, do not serve demons, do not cause abnormality to anyone but be of good service unto God. In the case of Job, all his children died, the wives divorced him and every negative thing happened to him. But he was steadfast and faithful unto God. Above all, he had absolute trust in God and because of this, God decided to reward Job in hundred folds by restoring all his wealth, children, wives and above all, God bestowed him with long life. This is the Lords doing and he expects all of us to be like Job, both in faith and steadfastness. See Psalm 34. BE CONTENTED WITH WHAT GOD GIVES TO YOU If you submit yourself unto God, he shall use you as his useful instrument. Make further reference to St. Matthew 13:1-14. The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side. And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore. And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold. Who hath ears to hear, let him hear. And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables? He answered and said unto them, because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath. Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, by hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: (Matthew 13: 1-14 KJV) SHORT ILLUSTRATION Recall your memory to a particular story about a certain woman who got married and stayed for long without a child. Because of her inability to bear a child, her husband threw her out of the matrimonial home. Consequent upon this, she decided to stay on her own. But just as she decided to stay action on further marriage, another man saw her hand in marriage. Before the marriage was contracted, the woman narrated her problems to the new husband, who promised to solve the problems. Then the man took her to a prophet who blessed them. After that he gave each of them a ring and revealed to them that, that particular night they would have a dream and whatever dream they had, they should tell him in the morning. This man, on getting home was very tired and so, slept off straightaway, but the woman had a sleepless night. But after some time, she dosed off. Within that interval, she saw three handsome and rich men. She was told that the first man was an arm robber, the second one, a murderer and the third a drunk. One of them said, Though I am handcuffed, let me go and greet my mother. He moved towards the woman but she said, Go you are not my child. The second and third men did likewise and she also responded the same way to them. Just there in the dream, on seeing those men, she was worried and afraid. Then at dawn, the prophet, ask them what they dreamt of and the husband said nothing while the wife reported what she saw to the prophet. Then the prophet told her that those were her children. She was further told that God had known the problems such children could have caused her and since she could not have born such problems, God decided to keep such from her, which was why she was barren. God is all knowing he knows what is good for each and everyone of us. This further confirms that our problem comes from us. Do not attribute your problem to any man, witch and or other vices. Do not request anything more than what you are given because the giver knows the qualities of whatever he gives you. After those revelations, the woman was happy and left with joy. In the light of this, you are advised not to request anything from God but allow God choose that which is yours for you because the request you have been placing before God contribute immensely to your problems. It does not please god if we suffer, lament or weep, but it is because we do not have faith in him. No man is ready to accept God, abide by his injunctions, surrender unto him receive him; hence we suffer. God is ever ready to listen to our request and grant them, but our stubbornness barricades the blessings of God from getting to us. All the problems that are afflicting us which we experience daily are the resultant effects of our parents evil deeds. May my peace and blessings abide with the entire world. Amen.
