THE RICH FOOL Read Luke 12:15-21 Memorize: Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; a man’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions”. (Luke 12:1). The end is near. We live in a generation where materialism is earnestly prayed for, sought after, and dishonorably displayed, applauded, and celebrated, even among the Gospel preachers. What else can we say? Many believers are beclouded between needs and greed. We preach contentment but pant and pursue covetousness. But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself? (Luke 12:20). No man can serve two masters. You cannot serve God and possessions. That you possess many good things of this world to live by and enjoy, is not necessary sinful, but that they have you possessed is contemptible. God designs our Christian race for accomplishment. It is His pleasure that we succeed (Psalm 35:27). Yet, we should not provoke Him to jealousy by idolizing what we receive through His generosity (Psalm 62:10; 52:7).who is your best friend? What is your greatest desire? What/Who can you die for? How much do you spend for God and yourself monthly? Don’t be a fool! You are more than what you have. True Christian living culminates in being rich always toward God through bountiful giving to the work of the Kingdom. Prayer Points: 1. Help me Lord, to spend and be spent for YOU. 2. Thank God for Nigeria and the celebration of her 100 years of existence in peace and unity. 3. That the Lord would help the Church to raise godly, vibrant and focused Prayer Band.
