THE RIGHTEOUSNESS THAT COMES FROM GOD You were once naked before you gave your life to Christ. When you became born again in Christ, a righteous character was imparted unto you by the Holy Spirit. Now, you are clothed with righteousness through your faith in Jesus Christ. You are the righteousness of God in Christ. You now put on righteousness as a breastplate (see Ephesians 6:14). That righteousness makes you to be alive and connected to God! In fact, the children of God are called oaks of righteousness (see Isaiah 61:3). A child of God is walking in the narrow path of righteousness that leads to Heaven. Thus, it is through Christ, you were accounted righteous! What is righteousness, in the first place? Righteousness is right standing with God. That means that you have a right relationship with God through Christ. To be righteous is to be true to God. You doing the right things does not make you to be righteous! But, you doing the right things for the glory of God is righteousness. This involves you walking with God; and obeying and pleasing Him. If the Holy Spirit is not living in you, then you are not righteous (Romans 8:5-9; Galatians 6:7-8). As a believer, you became righteous not by works, but by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 2:15; Philippians 3:9; Ephesians 2:8-9). The righteousness that comes from God is based on Christs works and principles. For this reason, righteousness is Christ working through you. It is Christ using you for the glory of the Father. Righteousness is aligning yourself with the perfect Will of God. When the counsel of God stands in your life; this makes you to be righteous. It is what God recommends about you that makes you to be righteous! Further, righteousness deals with obeying the commandments, principles, instructions and directions of Jesus. You pursue righteousness when you seek God in spirit and in truth. The Bible says, Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied (Matthew 5:6 ESV). If God is going to repay everyone according to their works, then your good works are counted as righteousness (see Ephesians 2:10; Hebrews 13:16; Titus 3:14). It was by grace through faith in Jesus that you did those good works (see James 2:14-17). As a matter of fact, the believers are called into righteousness (Isaiah 42:6-7). And it takes love for you to do righteous works. Jesus said, If you love me, you will keep my commandments (John 14:15 ESV). The righteous abides in Jesus and He abides in them. You have to maintain your righteousness, in order to bear much fruit (see John 15:1-6). Then, you will obtain the crown of righteousness in Heaven (see 2 Timothy 4:7-8). The Word of God is a Word of righteousness (Hebrews 5:13-14; 2 Timothy 3:16). For this reason, righteousness is aligning yourself with the Word of God. Live by it and practice it to maintain your righteousness (see 1 John 3:4-7). The more the Word of God abides in you, the more you grow in righteousness! The effect of righteousness is peace, quietness and trust forever (Isaiah 32:17-18). And its fruit leads to sanctification and its end is eternal life in Heaven (Romans 6:19-23; Matthew 5:20; Matthew 25:46). The waves of sea moves over you as your righteousness (see Isaiah 48:18). In the spirit realm, you are covered with the robe of righteousness (Isaiah 61:10). And righteousness is the belt of your waist (Isaiah 11:5). Sin, worldliness and iniquity stains your robe! However, you are supposed to be righteous in all areas of your life, both in your business, school and working place. Stay away from self-righteousnesss; and avoid pride and arrogance! Repent and give Jesus your entire life; surrender all to Him. In conclusion, fully live for Jesus in righteousness and you will forever be united with Him. These are the days of temptations and trials! It takes faith for you to keep walking with God. Faith moves you along the narrow path of righteousness. Faith gives strength. I heard the Spirit saying: THE END HAS COME; DISASTER IS COMING UPON THE EARTH. THE END TIME IS COMING NEARER. Jesus is coming back again. Prepare your heart and soul! For, yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay; but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him (Hebrews 10:37-38 ESV). PRAYER POINTS Note: if you would like to be a born-again, Spirit-filled Christian, then say the first and second prayer point with faith and with all your heart! Say it now, for tomorrow may be to late! You need to be saved and be delivered from sin and hell fire through Jesus Christ! Here is the free gift of salvation from God: 1. I accept you, Jesus Christ as my Lord and personal Saviour. I confess you as the Son of God. Come into my heart. I believe in you that you died for my sins and resurrected on the third day. I ask for your forgiveness of my sins. Forgive me and wash away my sins with your precious Blood. I want to live with you. Put upon me your robe of righteousness. Write my name in the Book of Life, in Jesus name. Amen. 2. Oh Lord, I surrender my life to you with all my heart. Transform me and fill me with your Holy Spirit in full measure. In Jesus name. Amen. 3. Lord God Almighty, give me the grace and power to maintain and pursue your righteousness, in Jesus name. 4. Holy Spirit, give me a renewal of heart and mind so that I can set my heart and mind on heavenly things, in Jesus name. 5. Lord Jesus, give me endurance and patience to persevere right to the end, in the name of Jesus.
