THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED ====================== Two roads diverged in a wood, and ____ I took the one less travelled by: And that has made all the difference. ------ROBERT FROST. In Your Hands. =========== Everyone chooses one of two roads in life - the old and the young, the rich and the poor, men and women alike. One is the broad, well travelled road to mediocrity, the other the road to greatness and meaning. The range of possibilities that exists within each of these two destinations is as wide as the diversity of gifts and personalities in the human family. But the contrast between the two destinations is as the night is to the day. • The path to mediocrity straightjackets and cages human potential. The path to greatness unleashes and realizes human potential. • The path to mediocrity is the quick-fix, short-cut approach to life. The path to greatness is a process of sequential growth from the inside out. • Travellers on the lower path to mediocrity live with the negative cultural influences of ego, indulgence, scarcity, comparison, competitiveness and victimism. Travellers on the upper path to greatness rise above these influences and choose to become the creative force of their lives. • One word expresses the pathway to greatness: VOICE (i.e. The Individual’s Unique Personal Significance). Those on this path find their voice and inspire others to find theirs. The rest never do. – STEPHEN COVEY (THE 8TH HABIT). The Core Elements of Your Voice ====================== Basically, your voice should be woven round the four universal human needs of: - Living - Loving - Learning - Leaving a Legacy Vision and Voice. ============ Some may have a vision of what is possible suddenly burst upon their consciousness. But generally speaking, vision comes as people sense human need and respond to their conscience in trying to meet that need. And when they meet that need, they see another, and meet that, and on and on. Little by little they begin to generalize this sense of need and start thinking of ways to institutionalize their efforts so they can be sustained. -STEPHEN COVEY (THE 8TH HABIT). The Cry of the Soul ============== “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bounds. Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world.” -----THE YOGA SUTRAS OF PATANJALI General Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain posited: “The inspiration of a noble cause involving human interests wide and far, enables men to do things they did not dream themselves capable of before, and which they were not capable of alone. The consciousness of belonging, vitally, to something beyond individuality; of being part of a personality that reaches we know not where, in space and time, greatens the heart to the limit of the soul’s ideal, and builds out the supreme of character.” “Life is a mission and not a career, and the purpose of all our education and knowledge is so that we can better represent Him and serve that mission of life in His name and towards His purposes.” - STEPHEN L RICHARDS (Father of Stephen Covey). The Opportunity of Life. ================ “An unused life is an early death.” – AUTHOR UNKNOWN “You will invest your life in something or you will throw it away on nothing!. – HADDON ROBINSON “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.” – HELEN KELLER Join the company on THE ROAD LESS TRAVELLED and tread the path of greatness: Rise to your peak potential and supreme of character and be a blessing to your world and successive generations. “I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by conscious endeavour”. – HENRY DAVID THOREAU MAKE THAT MOVE.
