THE ROYAL BALLET SCHOOL APPLICATION & AUDITIONS GENERAL INFORMATION National audition tours are held at various venues throughout the UK each spring term for full-time students (Upper and Lower School), Mid and Senior Associates and each summer term for Junior Associates. Auditions are for courses commencing the following September. Combined auditions are offered for candidates interested in applying for both Lower School and Mid or Senior Associates. All applicants are invited to audition in a class with other candidates, which will be of 1¼ to 1½ hours duration. Note: There are no auditions held for International Summer School - these are by photo application only. UK NATIONAL AUDITION TOURS Full-Time Students (Upper and Lower School) * Preliminary Auditions: Held at various venues throughout the UK. January and February Final Auditions: Selected candidates from preliminary, DVD and private auditions will be recalled to final auditions in London. February and March DVD Auditions - International Applicants International applicants and candidates from Scotland and Ireland may submit a DVD as a preliminary audition. Private Auditions Private preliminary auditions, for overseas students, are only granted at the discretion of the Director. A completed application form should accompany a private audition request. Junior Associates (8 - 10 years) Auditions held at various venues throughout the UK. May and June Mid and Senior Associates (11 - 15 years) * Auditions held at various venues throughout the UK (including combined auditions for Lower School). January and February * Lower School & Mid or Senior Associate combined auditions are offered in one class for one administrative fee (see below) Ages of Entry Applicants for courses for entry in September should be within the following age ranges as at 31 August in the current academic year.
