THE SAD #SADA STORY SO FAR Did you hear former SADA CEO,Gilbert Seidu Iddi, on the Midday News on Joy FM? A project Manager of the afforestation project has told us that the project is not a success story because the trees were dying. But Gilbert Iddi does not think so. Were the trees planted? Were jobs created? he asked, and went ahead to say these are the two indicators of measuring the success or otherwise of the intervention. Meanwhile, many of the afforestation sites are worse than they were before the project. Trees, including shea, were felled and burned in order to make way for the project. Sadly, most of the SADA trees could not survive. So? The GH¢32.4million paid to ACI Construction Limited to plant the trees has left the vegetation worse than it was before.
