THE SECRET OFOVERCOMING SATAN’S STRATEGIES: John.13:2. 2Cor.2:11. Thebible warns us that we must not be ignorant of Satan devices or strategies. Thedevil’s strategy is to trick the saint into backsliding and betrayal thereforewe must be watchful and vigilant. After he got Judas Iscariot he wanted to getPeter also. He is not contented with just having one person backslide ifpossible he will want to make all to backslide. What he does is to make thethings of this world looks very attractive and he will give great promises andvisions. Joshua.7:20-21. 1Timothy.6:6-10. Once he succeeds to get you to becovetous and being ambitious. SATAN’SDEVICES AND DESIRE: John.13:2, 27; Gen.3:1-6; Luke.4:1-13; Zech.3:1-5;Luke.22:3-7, 31-32; Isaiah.14:12-15. It is very important for every believer toknow and understand the working, devices and strategies of Satan. This willhelp us to be able to withstand and overcome him. Many a times Satan comes in asubtle way he comes as a friend having your interest at heart but it is all fordeception. He comes in an indirect way with subtle suggestion like he did toEve did God said or like He did to our Lord if thou be the son of God. When hecomes with such subtle question his intention is to get you to disobey the Lordbut as the Lord overcomes him through the written word of God we too willovercome him today. At other time he putsome suggestions to your heart saying what do you think look at this is notlooking nice what if you possess it will it not be wonderful like he did forAchan. His desire initially was to overthrow Godand install himself as god to be worship but he fail. But since then he isstill desires other things. He desired and got Judas Iscariot now he desires tohave Peter too. His desire today is to make the believers to backslide and toworship him as their messiah and Lord but he will definitely fail as he hasalways failed in the past. SAVIOUR’SWARNING AND PRAYER: John.13:21-28; Mt.26:20-25, 41; Mt.24:11-13;Luke.22:31-32; Hebrews.7:25-26. It is not the will of our father and ourSaviour for any of us to perish or to backslide. He delights in our making itto heaven. This is the reason He warns us over and over again to beware of thedevil’s strategy and to watch and pray. He did not only warn us but He ispraying for us too that our faith will not fail. We will not fail if we takeheed to the warnings and live in agreement to His prayer for us. But if webecome careless like Judas Iscariot and do not take heed to His warnings thereis no way His prayer will be answered on our behalf. We must avoid being overconfidence like Peter it is then we will not have the bitter experience ofPeter though he latter got restored but that but is always there in his like. SAINTS’ WATCHFULNESS AND FAITHFULNESS: Eph.6:10-14;1Peter.5:8-9; Acts.20:28; Luke.21:34-36; 1Cor.10:12. It will be a great tragedyfor any one after tasting the grace of God to miss heaven because of littlecarelessness and the vanities of this world. To avoid such terrible and sadexperience we need to take the following steps so that we overcome all thestrategies of Satan. (1) Take heed to the warning of the scriptures. (2) Watch, pray and resist temptations. (3) Beware of worldly ambitions and desires. (4)Watch against covetousness and love of money. (5) Withdraw from anyone who isnot walking strait and upright. (6) Be prayerful, obedient and faithful in allthings. (7) Maintain a conscience void of offence toward God and man and livewith the consciousness of God presence with you.
