THE SHADOWS IN OLDTRAFORD. The poor performance that has engulfed the English power house of football, Manchester United this season has all round been most talked about. It is no doubt that the English champions has had their worst start in 24years. They have just 10points from a possible 21. Having drew Chelsea, loses to Liverpool away, hammered by Man City 4-1, and a shocking lose to Westbrom at home. One could imagine what went wrong but one cannot be far from the truth that the change in the Managerial position of the club has had this effect on the team. The new Manager and former manager of Everton has brought in his own idealogy to the team. One could wonder why he sacked the backroom coaching staff of his predecessor and fellow scotman Sir Alex Ferguson. But one cannot be far from the truth if one thinks he never wanted his own success to be attributed to the input of those backroom staff. Manchester United fans are in no hurry to forget the aura which Sir Alex Ferguson brings to the game which made him successful in 26years at the club. These had made many fans calling for the return of Fergie but the scot has always reiterated that the club is in safe hands under Moyes. Many has criticised moyes tactical ability and winning mentality to manage English most successful club. The bringing in of new inexperience coaching crew, the lack of result of matches United fans believed they could have won under Fergie, made many doubt the capability of Moyes to handle the club. Fans has also criticised Moyes for lacking winning Mentality and making the players overwork in training causing them fatigue during matches. His tactical input is widely criticised especially in the game in Ukraine against Shaktar, when he brought in a defender for a striker, in a time known for United late comebacks and termed Fergie time. As the fans await to see the United of years back, their dorminant style of play, the counter attacks, their late comebacks and their winning mentality, all they need is time and support to their new Manager as Fergie urged them. United like other big clubs in the premier league with new manager has suffered big upsets. But united own is worst owing to the fact that they are the defending champions. The resurrection of Manchester United as a dorminant force in English football under Moyes is doubted by many. Many who believed in Moyes had reminded the fans that it took Fergie four years to get his first trophy. But in plain comparison, Fergie inherited an ordinary team and build them to a reckoned force in English fooball while Moyes inherited a team that were champions. Manchester United is currently sitting at 9th on the table far behind league leaders Arsenal and other contenders. Their improvement under Moyes to be the pride of English fooball once again, only time will tell. By, #kardinio ------------------------------ On Mon, Oct 14, 2013 2:29 AM
