THE SIMPSONS: SEASON 26 BEGINS (dont worry.... no spoilers!) So, where do I begin with analysing last nights SIMPSONS episode, Clown In The Dumps? We knew that an established character would be killed off - and this was true... but who was it? Dont worry, I wont spoil it here. The Simpsons credit wipe at the very front of the episode has Ned Flanders as a harp-wielding angel - is it a clue as to the mystery character who dies in the episode? Then comes the chalkboard gag, which confirms that Homer Simpson is not killed off (unfortunately for Bart). The couch gag sequence was a pile of shit - running a whopping 2 minutes 48 seconds and is the longest ever: Homer travels forward in time to see how The Simpsons will look in the year 10,535. It gets weird! Krusty the Clown is one of the most irritating, over-loud (he is the Billy Gilbert of Simpsons land) and unlikeable characters the show has ever had... and he dominates the whole episode. Lisa is concerned about Homers health and tries a number of ways (including wrapping him completely in bubble-wrap) to protect him; but this only acts as a sub-plot to the Krusty storyline which doesnt really have anything to do with any Simpsons characters. Best line of the episode: All religions are equally boring ~ Bart Simpson. Couldnt agree more. Unfortunately, the opening episode of the series was also boring. Lords rating: 2 out of 5 stars.
