THE SIT-UP AND YOGA Take the Sit-up in between the floor poses seriously and start building abdominal strength. When this exercise is done properly it becomes the Stretching pose as well. There are several ways to do the Sit-up. The Sit-up I practice and recommend to people with healthy backs and necks goes like this; From Savasana, as you slowly raise arms over head take a deep breath. Keep hands on the floor and palms facing toward the ceiling. Slowly exhale all the air out of your lungs and pause your breath for a second. Now, keep your feet together and legs and arms straight. Make sure your lungs are empty, in a straight line and in one motion sit-up and dive forward over your legs and touch your hands on your feet. After learning the mechanics of this sit-up you can incorporate two final exhalations at the very end of your breath. Do you have a personal favorite Sit-up?
