THE SOUND OF MUSIC . All musical sounds have their significance which is their interpretation. Sound and speech usually move together, but yet there is difference between sound and speech. 1] Sound is a voice spoken without words: but, 2] Speech is a voice spoken with words. There are speeches spoken without sound e.g. Written words. However, both sound and speech are communication, not because of sound or words, but because they have interpretation or significance. I can both communicate and be communicated without sound or word using only body language and signals. Therefore, communication is not just about words or sounds, but about signals, their interpretation and understanding. Notwithstanding, words are more powerful than sounds and signals in communication: By words, a sound or signal is either qualified or disqualified, either sanctified or defiled. Bringing it into music and songs, the lyrics are words which are more powerful than the rest of the musical sounds combined. . MUSICAL SOUNDS OR INSTRUMENTATION are branch of sound. 1*… Every musical sound is a sound, but not every sound is a musical sound. 2*… Every sound is a voice, but not every voice is a sound (e.g. written words). 3*… Every voice is a communication by the signals or significance, by their interpretation or by understanding (but not necessarily knowledge). That I dont know the meaning or interpretation of a voice does not mean it has no meaning or interpretation: It only means I am a barbarian or foreigner to the communicator and the communicator is barbarian or foreigner to me also (1 Corinthians 14:10-11). . Yes, every musical sound has its own significance which is sometimes referred to as key, especially in a Piano e.g. Key C, C-Sharp etc. on the Piano. It is because the Piano is a collection of sound-keys that is why it was called Key-board. So the Keyboard or Piano is already calibrated into alphanumeric key-sound including the provision for tuning in order to produce more Sonics. I use keyboard (Piano) as illustration, but it also applies to all other musical instruments. In a way, the Piano can produce the sound keys which some other musical instruments produced when handled by an expert. So the Keyboard has also calibrated sounds of some stringed instruments, wind instruments, organ and Jazz, as in keys or sonics. Besides, the combination of sounds could be written as signals for the player to interpret or decode: This sound codes are usually written with characters such as ¶ ¶ ¶……¶ ¶…. Even the voices of singers singing the same chorus could also be separated into Soprano, Treble, Tenor, Bass, with each having a different articulation of that sound code ¶ ¶ …¶…¶……¶ . All these are for you to understand better how the worldly musical sounds and notes could have been coded in such a way that glorifies the devil or the marine world where some of them came from. And it is not all the time that the lyrics of a worldly music express the true interpretation of the music people are dancing to: Dance is a movement, and the music you are dancing to reveals where you are going. He who pays the piper, dictates the tune: If Satan or Marine world provides a musical inspiration to a musician, the devil will also dictate the tune or significance of the music. . In Physics, sound is generally regarded as wave and the scientists measure waves such as Light wave, Sound wave, Electromagnetic wave, Wind wave and Water wave or Ripples. In measuring waves generally or Sound wave specifically, they measure wavelength, wave frequency, wave crest and trough, and also determine the medium or media through which the sound wave travels and how the medium affects the wave properties (wavelength or frequency) or how the wave affects the medium (by vibration). They also determine the Echo of the sound wave: Echo is simply the reflection of the sound just as virtual image is the reflection of man in a plain mirror. Scientists could use the Echo or the Sound wave to measure the depth of a sea bed from the surface of the sea. So if scientists can measure sound as wave and use sound to do exploits such as determining the depths of the sea without having to dive into the sea, how much more we who operate in the Word of God and the Spirit Jesus Christ. . Spiritually, 1]… By sound and musical sound, the wall of Jericho fell down (Joshua 6). 2]… By sound and musical siund, David cast out demons from a lunatic king, for the Spirit of GOD was in David (1 Sanuel 16:23, 14-23). 3]… By Sound and musical sound, Elisha the man of God became inspired to prophesy the word of God without waiting too long for the word to come (2 Kings 3:15-17). . But you may be wondering, What about replacing the lyrics of a worldly music with a gospel lyrics, but maintaining the same bits or musical sounds, will that be alright? Yes, because the words are more powerful than sounds or signals, especially the words of the gospel of Christ. The words (lyrics) of a song sanctifies or defies, qualifies or disqualifies a song. Do not fear that the musical sound is connected to devils provided the lyrics glorifies God: For the earth is the LORDS, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein (Psalms 24:1).
