THE SOUND To all my former colleagues, alumni, friends, and brethren at large... Please indulge me to share with you the following... The CBAN/Hayward Sound... (For lack of a better description) CBAN/Hayward had a very unique, distinct sound that stood above the masses of choirs during the 60s & 70s. This choir was known for its cutting-edge sound, music, & contemporary singing & songs! Its director was a young, short in stature, but very dynamic ball-of-fire, who would woo & wow the audiences wherever & whenever the choir was invited to participate. The Soundconsisted of young people who made their trek annually to attend CBAN, along with members from the local Hayward Church, both young & old alike. This dynamic choir had such an anointing upon them, so much so that there were times that the choir, along with its director, were unable to finish singing their songs because of the heavy & thick anointing that would come upon them! The Sound of this choir was phenomenal, powerful, life-changing, artistic, melodious, harmonious, unparalleled, pioneering in spirit, and so much more! The song styles were very versatile & diverse! Its song base consisted and ranged from traditional Apostolic songs, contemporary pentecostal, black gospel, mixed in with their very own staple of soulful singing. The Sound ushered healing, renewing, refreshing, encouragement, restoring broken homes & lives, repairing lives & marriages, bringing hope for a better tomorrow! The Sound also impacted & revolutionized a whole new generation of young musicians & singers throughout our nation, and around the globe, even till this day, 50 plus years later... Thank You Lord for THE SOUND! You will never be forgotten...
