THE SOURCE OF A FOLLY One will be remembered by the next generations as the man who made a Moro Moro out of the Muslims. Definitely, the Hour is nigh awaiting for him. Our forefathers shed blood in obliterating this Spanish scourge but someone, out of dissent more from the Muslim social order than from the secular government, exhumed it from the dead file and tried to give it a good construct Bangsa in the precept of Jihad. Now, people who are still swayed want other people, the Christians, the Indigenous People (Lumads), to be a part of this new inclusive socio-political order in the guise of Islam. Islam is Islam and not Secularism. Who can fool the World of reality! The Spanish word is out of usage in the whole wide World including the Muslim World who never accepted it. Moro was not in the Arabic text of Muslim History--it is found in the Spanish text of olden times and in the written words of those who followed after them. It is a Spanish word. It is only in the Philippines where traces of colonial mentality still persists as this pejorative name-calling, albeit its counterpart Indio vanished with the colonizers. Where will this lead to? Wake up, my Brothers! When in a dilemma, GO BACK TO THE QURAN where the solution to a problem can be found.
