THE SOUTHERN CROSS I have always had a fascination for astronomy - TopicsExpress

THE SOUTHERN CROSS I have always had a fascination for astronomy from young. I hope this astronomical wonder will fascinate you? The Sun, which is really a Star like any other that you see in the night sky never moves. The reason it seems like the sun raises and sets is because the earth is actually moving. The earth moves in two ways. Firstly, it rotates on its own axis –this effect creates night and day. Secondly, the earth rotates around the Sun –this effect creates our seasons. Now here is the fascinating thing, on December 22nd, the Sun, “travelling” south, reaches its lowest point in the (our summer solstice, our longest day). At that lowest point, the “Sun stops moving” on the sundial for Three Days, Dec 22nd, Dec 23rd, and Dec 24th in the Southern Constellation known as the Southern Cross. Our Savior (dead for three days) died on THE CROSS. On the morning of Dec. 25th, the Sun begins its annual journey back to the northern hemisphere, bringing, of course, our winter. Therefore, on Dec 25th, the “Sun is BORN AGAIN”. This is the reason why the ancient’s have chosen Dec 25th, to Celebrate the Birth of Jesus. Lastly, all major encyclopedias both ancient and modern, references it as; The Cross of the Zodiac. This is why we see the round circle of the Sun on the crosses of some Christian churches. The next time you pass a Christian church, look for the circle (Sun) on the cross. The Heavens declare His Glory! S.T
