THE SPIRIT OF OFFENSE Im starting to notice more and more that - TopicsExpress

THE SPIRIT OF OFFENSE Im starting to notice more and more that many things offend us, and we are offended far too easily and too often. Those of us walking in the spirit are not realizing that when we allow the spirit of offense to come in, it becomes a hindrance and a stumbling block to us. It can cause us to stumble in our walk with God. Here on FB alone, I notice how people are quick to accuse others of being mad at them or ignoring them when they dont receive a timely response from the person whom they are seeking it from. They start to unfriend people, and if they are battling the spirit of rejection, they go so far as to totally block them. They never consider whether or not the person saw their correspondence or if that person just hasnt gotten around to responding to them. Furthermore, Im noticing how believers are making a conscious decision to act an awkward way towards others, and when those other people totally ignore their immature behavior they get upset with them. They never think for a minute that their confusing ways initiated the response they received, or that they are intentionally pushing people away with their odd actions; basically, being the hypocrites they accuse others of being. We need to do away with this foolishness, believer or not. Tomorrow is not promised and the sun does not rise and set around our lives. Life goes on. People move on. No sense in playing victim and harboring in unforgiveness which only makes us look older and bitter. If you feel the spirit of offense coming in, STOP! Think of whats happening. Determine if it is your emotions acting out or if the situation is really as it seems. Reach out to the person to discuss the potential offense, first apologizing if you have done wrong yourself. Love apologizes even if there is a possibility of offense. Make peace with them. And if it doesnt work out to your desire, LET IT GO AND MOVE ON. And by all means, PRAY ON IT! Be respectful and kind. Put away selfishness. More often than not, it isnt what we think it is, nor is it all about us. People are living through every day life just as you are. It is okay to let people be. Sometimes you have to just let them get over it and come around on their own. And if they dont, accept that their season is over. It may not be what we want it to be some of the time; but remember, God is good ALL OF THE TIME!
