THE STATE OF THE NATION 61: MY COMPILATION OF GEJ’S ONE HUNDRED IMPEACHABLE OFFENCES There are three courts: the court of law, the court of God, and that of the public opinion; whereas the technical people may use legal technicalities to puncture one’s case before the court of law, but as a member of the people’s parliament, I have compiled my own impeachable offences and I am moving round the country getting signatures of one hundred and sixty million Nigerians, old, young, boys and girls to get the president impeached by February, if it comes earlier, good and fine.. Here I go: 1. The president has failed to allot the recommended twenty-six per cent budgetary allocation to education, the best we ever had was fourteen per cent and only eight was released(no figure of what went into private pockets) 2. Perhaps, the most ridiculous economic fallacy of the year is this austerity measure thing. What did they do with the excess crude when oil sold above hundred dollars per barrel? 3. Now, the talk of declaration of massive and unprecedented redundancies in the public sector is rife, but what happens to the political appointees such as special assistants, senior special assistants, personal assistants, and technical assistants, all for one man.
