THE STRANGEWAYS MANIFESTO We, as a fist, stand for the acknowledgement that there is nothing more painful from being kicked in the stomach by the truth – and by that, contemplating the difference between TRUE and RIGHT. The art world is filled with false prophets and bushleague conjurers, nevertheless the metal/alternative music scene, all trying their best to lure you into the aesthetics of true and right, most of the time without considering that the viewer or\and the listener is not as dumb as they think. Strangeways took on itself as one of its missions to deconstruct the meaning of those powerful words and then while reconstructing them into different, more conclusive aesthetics and sound place them back into context. Art as true and right as Art. Israel holds in it a variety of fears, so many – sometimes it is almost impossible to grasp that it is a soil humans habitat. Here, Jerusalem, where I write these words from, the true and right words are being used daily, and in so many contrasting forms. Strangeways is not a political band, but for sure consist of Israeli born and raised members – now, you try to be politically correct.
