THE STRANGLE HOLD ON POLITICS BY VERY FEW IGBO PEOPLE!!! Orji - TopicsExpress

THE STRANGLE HOLD ON POLITICS BY VERY FEW IGBO PEOPLE!!! Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abia State has presented himself as PDP Candidate for Senate in Abia. The former governor of Anambra State has also come out as candidate for senate. The former governor of Imo State Ohakim has also announced his candidacy for the governor of Imo State, again in 1015, and former senator Araraume has also declared his candidacy for governor of Imo Sate!!! It is strange that in light of all that has happened in Igbo land since the Biafra / Nigeria war, which was fought specifically in the heartland of the southeastern Nigeria, what we have is these few individuals who suddenly came into so much money by way of politics and as a result spend sleepless nights planning how to remain in that house of revolving doors and guard it as a fortress they alone are entitled to. What is it other than the fact that huge amounts of money have been amassed and the majority of the constituencies will never be allowed to clue in on the very fast and furious few who continue to show up every four years to divide the state pie strictly among themselves? For a young man who just after a stint at the governors mansion for example is recognized as having twenty companies in Nigeria, fifteen companies in Sierra Leone, ten companies in Dubai, ten companies in Ghana, eleven companies in England, another dozen of companies in South Africa, Holland, Switzerland, China, Bangladesh, United Emirates, and a dozen other smallish countries we do not have space to mention here, have time to even examine half of the books of his conglomerates to have time to run for senate seat. Well, I get it, he will get the senate seat, his announcement was just a formality. What does a senator do in the house of senate. Could there be a chance for a senate debate on legislation introduced in the lower House by a law maker? Is it just name recognition that justifies becoming a senator? When are people in office convinced that they can serve the people in their constituency and when do ex this and ex that realize that all that money hardly buys them happiness when the rest of us are suffering and yearning for representation. A filthy rich person can only sleep on one bed at a time, drive one expensive car at a time, fly in one private jet at a time, sleep with one woman at a time... may be not.. but you catch my drift. Our people are not represented by people with good intention to serve so this popularity contest has to end if greedy people will settle for the enormous wealth they already accumulated from the peoples blood and tears. Come on people, develop a conscience now.
