THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID – PART 4 (concluding part) David - TopicsExpress

THE TABERNACLE OF DAVID – PART 4 (concluding part) David understood the difference between the outward and the inner man and knew that the inner man was vastly superior and eternal…hence, eternal values were to be sought for within the inner man… Psalms 51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. Truth is to be sought for in the inner man…so when Jesus said God is to be worshipped in spirit and in truth, he meant that we should live our thought life according to the truth of the Word, so that “the words of our mouth” tallies with “the meditation of our heart”: Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer. In asking God in prayer to let both these things be ACCEPTABLE, David was giving God an OFFERING…whenever you offer God something…you are giving him worship…be careful what you offer to God knowingly or unknowingly! You can only worship God in spirit and in truth if the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart are in total agreement…it means that whatever you say with your mouth is the total truth of whatever you think in your heart. It is always about how we live our inner life in thought, word and deed…not up to 3 verses after Jesus told the Pharisees that they were worshipping God in vain, he immediately spoke to his disciples: Matthew 15:9-11 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand: Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Why did he tie “teaching for doctrines the commandments of men” with “not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man?” Well…one of the reasons was because the Pharisees still wanted to maintain the Law about not eating unclean meat and Jesus had to correct that impression that people would become spiritually unclean or defiled just by eating pork or something else. The truth that Jesus exposed here is that the words we speak out of our mouths are actually what render us spiritually defiled…because they proceed from our thoughts and feelings…and our thoughts and feelings are coloured by our motives or intentions…they are the ones that determine our true nature and character…who we really are on the inside…what we truly desire inside…we think we know on the outside…but when we are able to genuinely compare the Word of God with what and who we are inside…we will know just how far from the truth we have been living… Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. When we allow the Word of God to truly penetrate our lives consistently, it will eventually arrive at the core of our being where it can no longer DIVIDE BETWEEN…but only DISCERN. The purpose of this discernment is to reveal to us who we really are so we can make adjustments and grow into who He wants us to be…it is this whole process of obedient character transformation that is true, sincere and genuine worship…this rebuilding and remoulding of our character so that it gradually becomes transformed into the image of Christ is the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David. It is revealed in almost every book of the New Testament in various ways… Romans 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. 2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. James 1:22-24 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway forgetteth what manner of man he was. The Tabernacle of David is the revelation we have been given to rebuild the inner man… Ephesians 4:22-25 That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness. Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Worship consists of the moment by moment acts of obedience that we offer to God in the inner man…in our thoughts words and deeds…this is what David sought to portray through the day and night worship of God…not with sacrifices of bulls and birds…but with songs of worship that were meant to open our hearts to the Lord for examination…to see if what we sing truly tallies with who we are… So the question is…and will always be…do you have a Tabernacle of David in your heart? THE END Be back again soon folks…
