THE TALBOT - BISHOPTON Visiting The Talbot is a treat for us as this place is known for lovely food and a nice al a carte menu. The parmos are priced at £12.95 sit in and £8.95 take away. On this occasion i got my bird to go but by the look of the restaurant, its certainly one Id like to visit again. The parmo is an average size and a little over cooked for my liking, however its fresh chicken meat and the over cooking of the parmo gave it a nice, enjoyable crunch. The meat is good quality and a decent thickness right through the parmo. The thick white sauce is creamy and sweet and has a taste to it which implies a secret recipe is used here. A really good bechamel sauce and a generous amount spread on to the meat. You could see it creeping out of the side. This chef can cook. Its clear the cheese has melt well and has a medium strength, cheddar taste to it. Again another generous portion just like a parmo should have. A very strong garlic was a great addition to dunk the parmo in to. The home made chips, small, a little over done but again a nice crispiness to them, also went well with the garlic. A side salad is fresh and crunchy. A strange addition was a tub filled with what looks like brown sauce / bolognese. This came with the parmo and had a very strange taste to it, like Moroccan spices. We all like a little some thing for free but this sauce didnt complement the dish. A little over cooked but didnt effect the flavour of the dish, scoring 4 out of 5 and a real quality parmo. So The Talbot - Bishopton You have been perved on!
