THE THOUGHTS OF JO NNACHI. I share in the concern and disenchantment of those who do not believe in the ongoing CONFAB. The composition and the packaging leaves much room for doubts and questions the credibility of the outcome. However, I want to sincerely hope that something positive will come out of the CONFAB. Aside from the old cronies, there are some visionary and progressive delegates too and I hope to hear them loud and clear as the CONFAB progresses. I want to believe that Nigerians are more educated now with better awareness and very sharp analytical mindset and as such, can no longer be fooled by the lies of the powerful. Perhaps, if we get it right, all the other vices plaguing our society will automatically and naturally be addressed too, but we cannot loose hope and give up even before we start by concluding that it is already dead on arrival. I urge us to however, follow the proceedings keenly, and make constructive contributions where necessary, using the platforms available to us. If the CONFAB will help in shaping our destiny as a nation, then lets give it a chance and if the time is now, then so be it.
