THE TIES THAT BIND A Band Of Brothers ===== Daily Rx ===== It is an Honor, and I am grateful to be part of a Brotherhood where someone is ALWAYS there, no matter what. This was proved when I went to NYC recently and got TONS of messages to come hang out, have a beer or crash at an old friends place. I am confident that I could get dropped in any corner of the world and one of my Brothers would be there and ready, willing, and able to help me out. Or just enjoy the suck with me. It’s certainly about that time where we were there for each other in that dark alley, in some dangerous corner of the world. However, it’s more than just being “brothers” or “going to war” etc. (After all, guys do that every Sunday in the NFL) Its about that time we went to your wedding together. It’s about that time we were in Paris for New Years and we saw the Eiffel Tower light up at midnight. It’s about that time we almost got arrested by the Polzei because we REALLY didn’t know that bar was owned by the Turkish Mob (They just don’t like American GI’s). It’s about that time your girlfriend broke up with you right before we deployed and you had to keep the ring because all our stuff was already packed. Its about that time SOMEBODY thought it would be a good idea to hike to Italy through the Alps... and it turned out to be totally worth it. It’s about that time when we got back from Iraq and we broke down crying in a field on the side of the Autobahn because the grass was SO DAMN GREEN (The colors were unbelievable). Its about that time you got back from Afghanistan and your wife was gone and she even took the ice try (who DOES that?) And yes, it’s about that time we had to call in air support and destroy that building because that guy would just not get the hint that we didnt want him shooting at our guys on the ground. We were together for all of that. It’s about a group of men that I am honored to have stood next to and to have DONE LIFE WITH. It’s about the guys that I would lead without hesitation no matter what the odds were or are against us. It’s the guys I would follow for 18 hours in 120 degree heat and literally eat sand for. And all this didnt happen because we swore an oath to a REALLY old piece of paper. That sounds good, it looks good on PowerPoint and it briefs well. It happened for the guy to the left and right of us, because when I looked into their eyes, there was honor, love, strength, and power there. And I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt they would do the same thing for me. So I’d like to personally thank my brothers and fellow veterans. Thank you guys, not just for your service, but for being an integral part of my life, for saving it and improving it every time you showed me a glimpse of the man I want to be. We laughed together, we cried together, we bled together, we lived together, we won together, we lossed together, we broke bread together, WE FOUGHT TOGETHER. All for EACH OTHER. I honor and appreciate your service and I love you Joshua Schlueter, Joshua MacNary, Matthew Woodruff, Christopher Keller, Augusto Giacoman, Erik J.
