THE TREE OF FREEDOM Happy day beloved and welcome to the 3rd series from The Tree of knowledge of good and evil on the Scripture Review Perhaps you have heard this saying before from democratic movements personnel; something like, ‘’the Tree of freedom must be constantly wet with the blood of patriots and tyrants.’’ To many it makes sense but I tell you, that statement is rooted in evil. The ‘’Tree of knowledge’’ in the Garden of Eden derives its nourishment from blood, because it is rooted in evil, and that is Satan source of power. After the fall of man, the ground was cursed so that nothing good would naturally grow for any man, rather it would produce through man’s toil and sweat. Man has fearfully bowed his knee to many idols, but he has had one god- that is himself. The serpent tempted man to go his own way, and since that day man has been utterly determined to do just that. This is a reflection of Satan’s own inclination. We must first understand that our unity is not based on having identical doctrines. Such unity is superficial at best. True unity can only be found in Jesus. To focus our attention on Him, and learn to love and cover one another, is far more important than doctrinal conformity. When the Lord becomes our focal point, we will see doctrines and all else from the same perspective- His. The attitude of being able to attain self-perfection is prevalent in every religion and philosophy in the world. The impacts of a developed mind and the attitude of being a self-made person is so pervasive that many sincere and devoted Christians may not be aware of the extent to which this spirit rules their lives. The irony is that the Lord wants us to ascend to heaven; He wants us to sit on the mount of the assembly; He wants us to be raised above the heights of the cloud; and He wants us to be like Him (to have His nature). But only He can accomplish this for us (which He has done through His Son). It has been a primary strategy of Satan through the ages to tempt man to grasp for himself what the Lord ultimately intends to give him anyway. The victory of Jesus over Satan was accomplished when He ‘’did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasp, Phil2:6,’’ but He humbled Himself instead trusting the Father to exalt Him at the proper time. If we are living our lives before men more than before the Lord, we will easily be swayed by pressure and confusion. We must judge the fruit of a work before we devote ourselves to it, regardless of how ‘’spiritual’’ it may seem. The Lord never said that we would know men or their works by how spiritual they are. Their true nature can only be known by their fruit. Is it the fruits from The Tree of Life or the Tree of Knowledge? It does not matter how much ‘’good’’ a work seems to accomplish- the Tree of knowledge is rooted just as much in good as it is in evil. If the fruit is not Jesus, it is not Life. Walking in truth is not just understanding everything accurately; it is abiding in Him who is the Truth. Growing spiritually is not just to grow in knowledge but to ‘’grow up into Him.’’ The recent infusion of humanistic theories that drive men further from their Creator is resulting in an ever increasing erosion of consistency in personality. No marvel man has been in pursuit of ‘’I, I, and I, ’’ from the very day of his birth as he is able to discern the good from evil. It is either I will build, or I will buy, or I will eat, or I will plan, or I will invest, or I will acquire, or I will achieve, or what will I do, or where do I go…? etc. Never in life will you hear a natural man say we will plan, or we will buy, or we will achieve, or we will eat, or we will share it equally; or we will fight for ourselves, it has always been I, I, and I. ...the series continues tomorrow, God bless you as you follow the expository study of the word of God. Hallelujah, Amen.
