THE TRICKLING OF THE RIVER. Rodney Mississippi, 32 miles northeast of Natchez, founded in the year of 1828. Rodney destined to become a great city and was quite famous in its on way. High level of culture. bustling with activity. Several banks, 35 stores, artist, theater, lecture hall, schools, sprain groups, churches, clubs, riverboat landing, taverns, banks, taverns, dentist, mercantile stores, hotels, the list goes on. Missionaries came from afar to establishes churches. Today Rodney is history. Once destined to be great, even its cemetery today is abandoned , over grown with high weeds. A ghost town in reality. One dirt road in with not exit. The buildings are all gone, except for an abandon church. Rodney seems to have been cursed with a fire, a rail road that went somewhere else, and a TRICKLING MISSISSIPPI RIVER. Rodney sits today 3 miles from the banks of the great Mississippi, a river that gradually CHANNGED ITS COURSE and Rodney began to die! Because of its location, on the great Mississippi, Rodney came within 3 votes in the legislature of BECOMING THE STATE CAPITAL of Mississippi. Had not the river CHANGED its course, look what MIGHT HAVE BEEN. O the TRICKLING of the river.
