THE TRUMPETS:THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF JUDGEMENT The FIRST Trumpet:Vegetation Struck The 1st trumpet announced the judgement on the land and the things that grow on earth. REVELATION 8:7 says,(KJV) "The FIRST ANGEL sounded: And hail and fire followed, mingled with blood, and they were thrown to the earth. And a third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned." grass and the trees=the pastor think it may be symbolize leaders and people. (Isaiah 40:6-7),"The voice said, Cry out!" And he said, What shall I cry?" "All flesh is grass, And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field. The grass withers, the flower fades, Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it; Surely the people are grass. the grass withers, the flower fades, But the word of God stands forever." The SECOND Trumpet:The Seas Struck The 2nd trumpet sends forth judgement upon oceans and the things that live in the sea. REVELATION 8:8-9(KJV) "Then the second angel sounded:And something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood. And a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed." This could literally be an erupting volcano that sends forth fire and burning lava into the sea(could be the Mediterranean, which John knew about when he wrote this book. ) In the Bible the mountain speaks of kingdoms. Eg. Babylon(now the nation known as Iraq) is spoken of as a destroying mountain in (Jeremiah 51:25), when God says, "Behold , I am against you, O destroying mountain, who destroys all the earth,"says the LORD."And I will stretch out My hand against you, Roll you down from the rocks, And make you a burnt mountain." The mountain is cast into the waters, which stand for a wicked and restless people. (Isaiah 57:20-21 KJV)"but the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. "There is no peace," says my God, "for the wicked." The symbolism of this second trumpet is believed that this wicked , violent, Babylonish kingdom of Antichrist will bring great trouble to the wicked people who are like the troubled sea when it cannot rest. The THIRD Trumpet:The Waters Struck The third trumpets heralds judgement upon the rivers and the men who walk on earth. REVELATION 8:10-11 KJV, "Then the third angel sounded: And a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. The name of the star is Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water , because it was made bitter." 2 ways to intrepret: 1st- if asteroid hit the earth, do you think it could be seen as a burning star like a lamp? There may be literal asteroids to hit earth that could poison the atmosphere and waters and kill many. 2nd- Satan is symbolized as a fallen star(see Isaiah 14:12) , and waters speak of people(see Revelation 17:15). a fallen star(Satan) could poison the water of life, thereby killling off human society in devastating way. The FOURTH Trumpet:The Heavens Struck God sends judgement upon the skies and the very light that shines from heaven. REVELATION 8:12-13 (KJV) "The the fourth angel sounded: Ans a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon , and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine ,and likewise the night. And I looked , and I heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice."Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound." From the beginning ,men have hated the light. Jesus said(John 3:20), "For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed." Now these men will have their of darkness. Symbolically, the sun, moon, and stars speak of ruling authority. The pastors of the church eg. symbolized as stars in the early verses of Revelation. The demon of darkness(Satan) becomes the prince of the world in the form of his Antichrist, who brainwashes the multitudes. The FIFTH Trumpet:The Locusts From The Bottomless Pit There is an invasion from the bottomless pit. REVELATION 9:1-2(KJV), "Then the fifth angel sounded : And I saw a star fallen from heaven to the earth . To him was given the key to the bottomless pit. and he opened the bottomless pit, and smoke arose out of the pit like the smoke of a great furnace. So the sun and the air were darkened because bof the smoke of the pit." Demons will be released upon the earth from the bottomless pit. Bottomless pit in Greek=abussou, English word=abyss. These demons will be especially vile, malicious and powerful. They are so diabolical that God in His mercy prepared a special pit in which to lock them away until the appointed time.
