Thomas Malcolm Kells - Died 31st October 1971 - Protestant civilian Found bound, gagged and blindfolded after having been abducted, tortured and then shot five times in the head by the Ardoyne IRA. Hugh Clawson - 2nd July 1972 - Protestant civilian Murdered with David Fisher after accidentally wandering into Ardoyne after a night out. Despite pleading for their lives they were beaten and then shot by the Ardoyne IRA and their bodies found dumped in a playground. they were discovered by young children the next morning. David Fisher - 2nd July 1972 - Protestant civilian Murdered with Hugh Clawson by the Ardoyne IRA. They were severely beaten and murdered after pleading for their lives. David Andrews - 9th July 1972 - Protestant civilian The 31 year old suffered from severe epilepsy and was partially paralysed. The Ardoyne IRA abducted him near Cliftonville, beat him severely, shot him three times in the head, dragged his body along the road and then dumped his corpse in the Waterworks in north Belfast. Robert Burns - 2nd February 1973 - Protestant civilian Shot in a sectarian drive-by shooting on the Oldpark Road. The car was found abandoned in nearby Ardoyne. Robert Collins - 20th March 1973 - Protestant civilian Abducted by the IRA outside the catholic ex-servicemens club in Ardoyne. He and a friend were tortured for hours on end and had lit cigarettes pressed into their faces. His friend managed to escape but Robert Collins was beaten to death and his body left by the IRA in Brompton Park. Dorothy Lynn - 9th July 1973 - Protestant civilian Burned alive when the Ardoyne IRA hijacked and petrol bombed the bus she was travelling on on the Cliftonville Road. The IRA had attempted to burn all five passengers to death but the other four managed to escape. The bus driver was also assaulted and robbed. Rodney Fenton - 20th December 1973 - Protestant civilian Murdered by the Ardoyne IRA as he walked to a pub for a Christmas drink near the Antrim Road. It was a nakedly sectarian attack. Samuel Malcolm Gibson - 21st October 1974 - Protestant civilian Abducted, tortured and shot eight times in the head after being stopped doing his laundry run in Ardoyne by the IRA. John Smyth Bailey - 17th November 1974 - Protestant civilian The 17 year old was with a 13 year old friend when a car pulled up and sprayed them with gunfire on the Crumlin Road. The Ardoyne IRA unit then traveled further down the Crumlin Road before stopping to open fire on a group of worshippers outside a gospel hall. A young girl was wounded in both legs in that shooting. Heather Thompson - 23rd November 1974 - Protestant civilian The 17 year old was working in a Crumlin Road petrol station when three Ardoyne IRA members entered the premises. They forced her to kneel in front of them before emptying a handgun into her. Her colleague John McClean was also murdered - shot nine times. John McClean - 23rd November 1974 - Protestant civilian Murdered by the Ardoyne IRA in the same sectarian attack as Heather Thompson. Three members of the Ardoyne IRA received life sentences for the two killings. James Murdoch - 25th November - Protestant civilian He was murdered in a drive-by shooting carried out by the Ardoyne IRA in the Woodvale district of Belfast. The gunmen fired 23 times at him and a friend forno other reason than they were protestants. Thomas Truesdale - 28th February 1975 - Protestant civilian Shot by the Ardoyne IRA in North Belfast in a random, sectarian shooting. A teenage girl walking nearby was also seriously wounded. William Archer - 6th April 1975 - Protestant civilian Shot in a random, sectarian attack by the Ardoyne IRA in North Belfast. The teenager had been walking to meet his girlfriend when he was murdered. Robert Kennedy - 13th April 1975 - Protestant civilian Beaten to death by three drunken Sinn Fein members who came across him after they had left a party fundraising event. The man was battered to death with bricks by the drunken gang - all of whom were also members of the Ardoyne IRA. They received life sentences for the savage, bloodthirsty murder.
