THE UNEXPECTED BOOST We forget (ok, I forget) that it’s usually the little things that brighten our days. This past weekend we got all crazy and took Lucy-the-Wonder dog on a ‘special adventure walk’ rather than the usual neighborhood loop. Well, it wasn’t all that crazy. It meant driving 5 minutes to a (free) parking lot to be able to walk along the water, but since it was different from the norm we marketed it as ‘special adventure walk’. (Thankfully) Lucy loves to walk but like any family with a dog, the walk routine can easily be dug into a rut. That may be overthinking Lucy’s interpretation but she HAS been a different dog since. Her tail wags a bit more and she holds her head higher, really! She got all jazzed-up doing something different, out of the ordinary, I swear. Seeing her happy self has put a smile on my face as well. She paid motivation forward by getting so excited about adding to her doggie ‘Footprint that it rubbed off on me. If a 27-lb mixed, rescued dog can pay motivation forward and brighten a day imagine what you can do. Now go out and make someone’s tail wag…
