THE UNFORCED RHYTHMS OF GRACE By Lakan Mariano Jesus said, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to Me. Get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 Man-centered religion will wear you out. Fastidious moralism is a sure cliff from which to fall. Rest and freedom and wholeness of life can only be found in Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit enlarges your heart as you encounter Jesus in His Word. Not in one-line scriptures taken out of context but as we sit under the Word, building our foundation brick-by-brick, line-upon-line, book-by-book, from Genesis to Revelation. Salvation is much more than a ticket to heaven. It is life in Christ, it is Christ leading us in a life dance of the unforced rhythms of grace. We learn the steps and then learn the dance never letting go of His hands. Or more accurately, He, never letting go of our hands. Stumbling at times but never falling. For Jesus will never let go. And He will make sure we learn His dance. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
