THE VALUE OF CHALLENGES It does not take long to realise that life is full of challenges. I mean, life begins with a doctor’s slap on our backside. This is why Job 5:7 says, “Man is born to trouble”. From the moment you leave your mother’s womb, you encounter trouble. One thing is clear: life is not a playground, it is not a bonding meeting but it is a battlefield. The sooner we realise this, the wiser we shall be. Remember Jesus’ words in John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world”. In the midst of the common calamities of human life, we should always keep in the forefront of our minds that our challenges are meant for our spiritual benefit. As Christians, we must know the value of our challenges. Our challenges are not meant to impair us but to improve us. I mean, challenges are meant to draw us closer to God, to strengthen our desire and determination for our Saviour. Therefore, whatever you may be passing through today, don’t allow your challenges to pull you down or tear you apart. Beyond your situation, there is solution. PRAYER: Lord Jesus, strengthen me to overcome because You make Your people’s trouble work for their advancement.
