THE VERDICT – SHAMBOLIC BLACK STARS Taking a look at the performances of the key stakeholders in Ghana’s worst performance in World Cup History MOYS – much ado about nothing, all talk and no work done. The handling of appearance fees, player’s bonuses, fans and ambassadors shows bad leadership. GRADE – F GFA – the actions and inactions of the FA before and during WC clearly shows complacency and still swimming in the successes of previous WC appearance. When most of the 95% of the countries played a minimum of four friendly matches before the World Cup, the FA could only organized 2 and half matches of Ghana. GRADE - F BLACK STARS MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE – their handling of the kamikaze comedies in the Black Stars from the training tour in Holland to Brazil is pathetic and appalling. Bad leadership and management styles and their inability to get FA to organize more matches for the team. THE HEAD COACH AND TECHNICAL TEAM – it was obvious the coach did not who is starting eleven was before the 1st game against USA. There were issues and limitations with the 26 man squad and 23 man final squad that went to represent the country. The moment the coach acknowledged some mistakes after the first game was the beginning of the end of the team – with players like KPB and Asamoah questioning the coaches’ line up and players in uncomfortable roles. He showed tactical naivety in some of his decision making during the games against Germany and Portugal, especially in the Portugal game in the absence of Sule. In the games against USA and Germany, the team played some of the most beautiful and attacking football Ghana has ever played in the World Cup. The team conceded an average of 2 goals per game and scored one goal per game will get DR. James and his team a GRADE - D GRADE – C THE PLAYERS Massive player indiscipline: Some of the performances on the pitch were good and others bad. They never played and worked as a team when it mattered most. In the last 10minutes of the 3 games, it was obvious that some players were looking for self glory rather than sacrificing for the general good of the team. The actions of the team off the pitch has overshadowed their performance and brought absolute disgrace and embarrassment to Ghana my Motherland.
