THE VOICE OF GOD Isaiah 30:21 ‘Yours ears shall hear a word - TopicsExpress

THE VOICE OF GOD Isaiah 30:21 ‘Yours ears shall hear a word behind you saying, This is the way walk in it, whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.’ Do you know what the voice of God sounds like? Well the Lord tells Isaiah exactly how He speaks with His own. Jesus said in John 10:27 says ‘My sheep hear My voice, and I know them and they follow me.’ All of us hear His voice when we walk with Him. What is His voice like? It is that voice that you hear within your heart that tells you the way you should go. Some instances when you want to do something clearly you hear the voice saying no. Other instances when you are not sure whether this is the correct way you hear the voice give you peace all over you and fills you with joy. But this is just a glimpse of what He has in store for you or the kind of relationship He wants to have with you. Yes my friends when we become more and more sensitive to the Holy Spirit in our life by walking closely with Him through prayer, reading the Word and setting our life apart more to Him, this voice becomes more audible and clear as how a person would speak to us. God speaks and uses anyone who is willing to surrender his or her life fully to Him. In Romans 16, Paul speaks of the believers in the church whom God was using mightily in that time period. Yes it was not only Peter and Paul and the Apostles whom God was using, He was using all the believers of the early church also mightily for His glory. That is why the Rome Empire itself was afraid of these Christians because they walked in power. My friends the Lord loves to talk to His children. This is why when Jesus was teaching us to pray in Matthew chapter 6; in verse 6 He tells us to go into the room, shut the door and pray to the Father who is in the secret place. Yes He wants us all to Himself because He does not want anything at all distracting us from the conversation He wants to have with us. Psalm 91:1 says ‘He who dwells in the secret place of the High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty’. What is this secret place? Dwelling in the secret place of the High is being in His majestic presence which is also referred to as the Glory of the Lord where the Almighty overshadows you. In Exodus 33:18-23, Moses tells the Lord ‘Please show me Your glory and the Lord responds and says I will make all my goodness pass before you and He also tells Moses ‘You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me and live. And the Lord said, Here is a place by Me and you shall on the rock. So it shall be while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock and will cover you with My hand while I pass by. Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but my face shall not be seen.’ Yes my friends the secret place or as the Lord tells Moses ‘a place by Me’ is when the Lord Himself comes and sits by you and His glory fills that place where you are seated and praying and He talks to you like He does to a friend. John 15:15 ‘No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from my Father I have made known to you.’ We are friends with the Lord so friends love to talk to each other. This is available to each and every one of you. Yes each and every one of you because Joel 2:28 says He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh. So that includes all of us. So my friends this is why you should daily spend time with the Lord in prayer and reading the Word and long after Him to be in that secret place which the Lord calls a place by Me. That should be your goal for the month of September in terms of your spiritual life. I should dwell in that secret place – the place by the Lord. When you thirst He will fill. When you seek you will find. The Lord will overshadow you with His glory and fill you with power. God bless you. (Romesh Daniels)
