THE WAY OF A SPIRITUAL LIFE Many people conforms to this world because theyre afraid of being rejected by this world. What is it that we seek? Prosperity? Popularity? It only leads to our own self destruction. ROMANS 12:1-2 [1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. [2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Were suppose to die to the flesh and live spiritually. Thats why some people fast and pray! Fasting and praying provides us a way to kill our fleshy needs and cravings. It strengthens our soul spiritually. We should turn our backs to this world, no matter the consequences, because God has a plan for all of us, even if it goes against what we feel is right, for God only alone knows whats best for us. When we feel that satan is not attacking us, we should be asking ourselves two questions; Does he have me where he wants me to be or am I a threat to him? We should examine ourselves! Are we pleasing God in what we do or are we just thinking of ourselves! Being a follower of Christ is not about what we want anymore, its about what God wants for us. He alone knows our needs and provides accordingly. We dont know any better because He knows what awaits us at the end of the day. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:6-8 [6] Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: [7] (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) [8] We are confident, I say , and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. The Holy Spirit provides us with the tools to carry out our journey that leads to the Kingdom of God. Galatians 5:22-23 [22] But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. Theres one word inbetween the verses above that pulls people away from Christ and that is Longsuffering. Many people dont want to sacrifice anything so they dont have to suffer for it. Thats hippocracy! God sacrificed His only begotten Son for our sake so we could be free from sin. So why look for alternatives to wiggle our way out of a situation without thinking of the consequences? Wouldnt it be wiser to turn to God rather than man? Although were in this world and being a follower of Christ were not of this world, its only obvious that we will be persecuted for the same reasons Christ did. Jesus said: MATTHEW 5:3-12 [3] Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [4] Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted. [5] Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth. [6] Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. [7] Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy. [8] Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. [9] Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. [10] Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you , and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. [12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have a choice that will determine our final destination. Be wise and walk the spiritual narrow path. God Bless.
