THE WAY OF THE CROSS Sixth Station: VERONICA WIPES THE FACE OF JESUS We adore you, o Christ, and we praise you. Because by your Holy Cross you have redeemed the world. Veronica, seeing the affliction of Jesus, and His face bathed in sweat and blood, wipes it gently. Jesus rewards her by leaving the impression of His face on the towel. I see that Veronicas act was one of freedom and love, whereas Simons act was one of compultion. In spite of the angry crowd, she came forward with courage and determination. Lord, give me courage to reach out to my brothers and sisters in their need; to give a word of consolation or a listening ear which has a tremendous healing power. Our Father in Heaven.... Hail Mary full of grace.... Glory be.... Have mercy on us o Lord.....
