THE WAY OF THE RAIN Live performance January 26th &27th at the Sun Dance Film Festival If you happen to be at the film festival do not miss it ! The way of the rain is an homage to our planet Earth and its universal elements. The Way of the Rain was inspired by the annual monsoon rains that sustain life on the fragile landscape of the high-desert plateaus of the Southwest. This live multidisciplinary performance invites the audience to remember their physical and spiritual connection to our planets beauty and plight through paintings, music, dance, film, light, and spoken word. Conceived by environmental-artist Sibylle Szaggars Redford to explore the issue of climate change resulting in rapidly changing weather patterns, Redford collaborated with world-renowned artists to create a piece that illustrates crucial environmental dilemmas through performance art. These artistic collaborators include music by Will Calhoun, Living Colour drummer; Dave Eggar, cellist and pianist; Chuck Palmer, percussionist; choreography by Desmond Richardson; lighting design by Steve Cohen; sound design by Ron St. Germain; and multimedia art by Thomas F. McBee.
