THE WINTER SOLSTICE IS OVER - THE SUN RETURNS – LET THE GOOD - TopicsExpress

THE WINTER SOLSTICE IS OVER - THE SUN RETURNS – LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL HI WILL, its getting close to Christmas. Just sittin’ here listening to some Christmas music and it got me to thinking and this was my first thought: “We never really know where we are going – or how we will end up.” Why that was my first thought, I’ll never know, although I must admit it’s a recurring thought, and I never know when it will suddenly pop into my head. And tonight that’s what it did. The thought always causes me some anxiousness. It’s an anxious thought. And in order to get rid of the anxiety it causes, I always try to address it. “We never really know where we are going – or how we will end up.” We are a single entity, a small part of something colossal (CoLOSSal – Ricardo Montalban) and full of grandeur. We are part of the grand scheme of things. And oh what a scheme! A hundred-trillion stars can be seen and new stars are being born every few minutes. They are just over the horizon. And here on Earth, every few minutes a child is born. There are more than a million stars, for every man, woman and beast that has ever walked upon this Earth. When I look up into the dark black sky, I see a million stars, and they’re all for me. Oddly enough, I have a friend that says the same thing. He says they’re all for him. Not wanting to make an issue of it, I offered a compromise and he took it. You know that big-bright-shiny star that comes out late at night? I took that one, and gave him all the others. He has nine-hundred-and-ninety-nine-thousand-nine-hundred-and-ninety-nine of them. He told me I was his best friend ever. I shook my head yes. With a tear in my eye, I could not speak. A moment later, I fell over dead. It’s not always a pretty show. But the show must go on and the will to live always kicks in. We like to boogie, right up till the end, and then a nice shuffle will do. Hot tea and biscuits, chicken-noodle soup. A stroll in the park, the sky is overcast, dull and gray. Falling leaves, it must be autumn, look at those vibrant colours, yellow, red, orange, and rusty brown, fallen leaves on a wet, dark afternoon. RICK JAMES with NEIL YOUNG youtu.be/AV9CPkgLo78
