THE YOUNG IRANIAN DESIGNERS This Festival is held by a group of art graduates of different Iranian higher education centers including the recent graduate designers from various universities such as Tehran University, Art University, Al-Zahra University, Shahed University, Soureh University, Science and Culture University, Islamic Revolution University, and different branches of Islamic Azad University, and Applied and Scientific Comprehensive University at B.A and M.A levels with the centrality of socio-cultural posters. This Festival contains 150 posters by more than 70 graphic designer graduates from different centers of higher education. Out of 734 works sent to the secretariat by 358 designers some of them will be approved and selected by the Jury. Secretary and President of this Festival is Hiwa Pashaei, the lecturer of art colleges at B.A. and M.A levels. Pashaei was already head or jury members of different festivals such as Fadjr Festival. The other Jury Members are: Manouchehr Rakhshan, university staff member and ex-deputy of education and present chairman of the department of graphic of College of Art and Architecture of Islamic Azad University- central Tehran branch. Ramin Sheikhani, university staff member and ex-chairman of the department of graphic of Islamic Azad University- Islamshahr branch, Arman Davoudi, university staff member and ex-chairman of the department of graphic of Islamic Azad University- Islamshahr branch, and Ali Sabet, university staff member and the present chairman of the department of graphic of Islamic Azad University- Parand branch. There are several reasons behind the formation of such festival and exhibition. As a matter of fact, today we witness a comprehensive development of the education of academic fine arts at Iranian universities. At the same time we see no proper channel to lead them to their suitable place and benefit from the capabilities of these young designers. Apart from these facts, due to the lack of a dynamic scientific association in the field of fine arts, most of the art graduates get into trouble in meeting their scientific needs and fail to find a suitable job. Moreover, monopolistic characteristics of certain people in the market of art works led many of the young graduates to remain in obscurity following which university people also failed to communicate with market, as a result they obtained some irrelevant jobs for themselves. The organizer of this festival by holding such gathering looks forward to win the cooperation of other designer in order to establish certain centers such as “scientific association of graphic design” or “Iranian Visual Arts Scientific Association” in the near future so that to fulfill the scientific demands of art graduates by holding different exhibitions, setting up workshops, and publishing their articles and works, and supporting their research works. In order to enhance the level of graphic design and fine art, considerable steps have been taken so far. Hopefully by attaining our objective the ground will be prepared for the development of further novel works particularly among the university people.
