THE YUMA POLICE DEPARTMENT IMPLEMENTS A NEW AUTOMATED TELEPHONE ANSWERING SYSTEM On Wednesday, September 3, 2014, the City of Yuma Police Department will implement a new automated telephone answering system for our non-emergency phone number, 928-373-4700. This service will be provided in English and Spanish. With this system, callers will be able to select from the following menu options: Animal Control (option 2), Municipal Court (option 3), Records (option 4), Dispatch (option 5) or option “O” to speak with a police department representative. The public shall continue to call 911 for all Police and Fire emergencies. The automated answering system; will enhance the efficiency of our police operations by reducing the callers wait time and routing the calls to the appropriate department.
