THEA REAH PONCE I. I. Objective: Given a flashcards about the number system, the students with atleast 85% accuracy wil be able to: a.define what are number system; b.demonstrate the importance of numbers through buying;and, c.make a table that identify the kinds of number system. II. Subject Matter a.Topic: Numbers b.Reference:College Algebra, Ms. Liza Lorena Casayas- Jala, pp.8-9 c.Instructional Materials: Flashcards d.Value Integration : Cooperation III.Methodology Direct Instructional Approach TEACHER’S TASKS Good morning class Lead the prayer mae! Before you sit down kindly pick up the pieces of paper under your chairs. Okay class, as I proceed to my discussion let me check your attendance and raise your hand if your name is called. PREPARATION As we start our discussion, let me know who among you here don’t know what are numbers? In that look I am sure that you already know numbers, am I right? Ok, but I want to hear the voice of who doesn’t know numbers. That good that every one of us knows numbers. I will just ask question if do you already see and hear numbers? Yes Nicole! Very good Nicole! and who among you here already hear number? Yes Dave! Okay , but in what way ? Very good Dave! PRESENTATION But do know what class, that numbers have their respective group these are called number system. We have natural numbers, counting number, whole numbers, integers, rational numbers, irrational numbers and real numbers. Before I start to discuss all the number system, I want you see this flashcards and write all the number that you see. Okay class, lean your ears, stop talking. When we say natural numbers is simply the numbers you first learned like for example in this set {1,2,3,4,…}.(the tree dot , called an ellipsis means that it continues indefinitely). Counting number are whole numbers, but without zero (0), Because you can’t count zero (0). Examples are {1,2,3,4,5…}. Whole number has no fraction or decimal point and no negatives numbers. Examples {0,1,2,3,4,5…}. Integers number is also like whole numbers, but it has a negative numbers (-) but no fractions are allowed. Examples {…-1,-2,-3,0,1,2,3…}. Rational numbers can be express as the quotient of two integers or a fraction but the denominator is not zero. Examples {0/4, 9 ,2/4 ,5/1, 73…} Irrational numbers cannot be expressed s the quotient of two integers or fraction such the denominator is zero. Examples {5/0, -o.3261…} Real number is the union of the set of rational and irrational numbers. Do you have any questions? But remember that I am showing you a flashcards STUDENT’S TASKS Good morning ma’am! Mae: Our father who art in heaven Holy be your name your kingdom come your will be done… Amen (students pick the trashes) (students raise their hand) (students silence) (students silence) Nicole: ma’am I can see numbers in my money.
