THEIR EXPRESSION MISSION: ELIMINATE THE CROSS If there ever was a reason to rise up and pray for America, you can see it in this excerpt of a CNN news article. It is about a video of a large gathering of al Qaeda terrorists in Yemen and their expressed mission. [Excerpt] In the middle of the clip, the man known as al Qaedas crown prince, Nasir al-Wuhayshi, appears brazenly out in the open, greeting followers in Yemen. Al-Wuhayshi, the No. 2 leader of al Qaeda globally and the head of al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, has said he wants to attack the United States. But in the video, he looks unconcerned that he could be hit by an American drone. This is quite an extraordinary video, Paul Cruickshank, CNN terrorism analyst, said. The video shows al-Wuhayshi addressing more than 100 fighters somewhere within Yemen, Cruickshank said . . .The al Qaeda leader, he said, is taking a big risk in doing this. But he doesnt mince words about his mission. In a speech to the group, al-Wuhayshi makes it clear that hes going after the United States, saying We must eliminate the cross. ... The bearer of the cross is America! [End of my excerpt] Someone looking at spiritual condition of America today, with our scandals and failures, might not see what this al Qaeda leader made perfectly clear concerning their mission. He said, “We must eliminate the cross . . . The bearer of the cross is America.” I am not relating this story because I am afraid or so you will be afraid, but because we need a new prayer initiative to awaken the church to pray for this nation -- to not give up on America, and that the church would repent of compromise. Most of all we need to pray that the vision of God will be restored for the USA and that America, joined with many other nations, would again be bearers of the cross.
