THEME: ITS TIME TO MOVE ON! reading: Deuteronomy 2:3 Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. When Esau came home from hunting and found out that Jacob had already taken the blessing of the firstborn, he cried so much to the father (Isaac), that he might bless him too. His father tried to tell him that he had given everything to Jacob, but Esau insisted that his father must speak something upon his life. So the father opened his mouth to speak, but what came out was more of a curse than a blessing. [Gen27] All how would you like a blessing that goes something like this, You shall live by the sword...and you shall serve your brother all your life!, among other things? And that is what happens when we push God our Father, to give us things Hed rather not give us! There is this usually very powerful message often preached in our churches, of how king Hezekiah pushed his death date forward by 15years! Ever heard of it? Yeah, the guy made God change his mind!! But have you ever cared to know what happened in those 15 years that Hezekiah got? You should! Because it was in those years that he begot a son (Manasseh), who later became the worst king Israel has ever had. It was in those years that he proudly showed off his gold house-wares to the king of Babylons son, making God so angry that He promised through a prophesy that they will be captives and the whole land will be burned down and that all that He was showing off would be taken away by the same people he was showing off to, together with his descendants. And Hezekiah responded in a way that clearly showed he did not care, as long as it didnt happen during his reign. (2kings 18-20; 2Chron 29-32; Isa 36-39) Thats what happens when we force the Father to give us stones when His sole desire is to give us bread. Thats besides my point, the good thing with what Esau got was the closing clause, But the day you grow tired (of being a slave to your brother and living by the sword), you shall break his yoke from upon your shoulders! What a relieve it must have been to Esau! Brethren, like the Israelites, many times we forget that it is only God who has the map of where Hes taking us. This God that parted the red-sea, for us to walk on dry ground, and swallowed the Egyptian army. This God that twisted the mouth of Baalam that He could only bless us while Balak had paid him handsomely to curse us... This same God, we sometimes think and even say that Hes out to harm us! We forget the manna, we forget the meat, we forget the water from a rock, we forget how water from mara became sweet though originally bitter! And because God holds the map, He leaves us to go round the mountain. I came to tell somebody that Finally! Its time to break camp and move on! Its time to become restless and break Jacobs yoke from our shoulder. May all those who are tired of this yoke say Amen! Im breaking camp and moving on! Im moving on from this grace level, Im moving on from this state, Im moving on from this! Im breaking camp! Im breaking this yoke from off my shoulder! Shalom and keep the faith. Facebook/pastornesh
