Then you shall proclaim that the Lord is your Refuge and your Fortress, your God in whom you shall forever trust! Our God will then Give His Angels charge over you and yours; and no evil nor scourge shall befall you nor come near your tent in Jesus Name. Amen! Father, Help us to make You our Refuge and Fortress in Jesus Name. Amen!!! Now it was the governors custom at the festival to release a prisoner chosen by the crowd. At that time they had a well-known prisoner whose name was Jesus Barabbas. So when the crowd had gathered, Pilate asked them, Which one do you want me to release to you: Jesus Barabbas, or Jesus who is called the Messiah? For he knew it was out of self-interest that they had handed Jesus over to him. Matthew 27:15-18 (NIVUK) Even though the governor had the choice to release a prisoner, such a one must be chosen by the people! Although the governor has the power to propose the one to be released to them, its up to the people to decide at the end of the day. That is the politics of the time based on the popular culture! The governor knew the truth that Jesus Christ was stitched up; but he had to go along with the wishes of the people. They chose Barabbas over Jesus Christ for release and Jesus fate was sealed; to the Cross He was headed! Do not expect the world to be on your side in any matter in life on earth; put your hope and trust in God and know that it shall be well with you and all things shall work out for your good in Jesus Name. Amen! Father, Help us to trust and hope in You to the very end in crisis or not in life in Jesus Name. Amen!!! (1) Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles. Persecution will always arise out of this wicked world against the Church of the Living God; but let no one think that the apparent success of anyone in the persecution, killing, maiming, bullying etc. and making the lives of Christians a misery is overlooked by out God. God Will never let the blood of Christians spilled especially needlessly, go unpunished. The Lord will AVENGE the blood of every Christian spilled in Jesus Name. Father, Help us to be strong in the face of evil meted out against us in Jesus Name. Amen!!!
