THERE IS GREAT HOPE FOR THE FUTURE ONLY IF WE CHANGE OUR WAYS: New Year Message. Today marks the beginning of a new year and also the beginning of the end of hopeless for Nigerians especially my people in Plateau state. Foremost I am grateful for giving me the grace to see today. I do not deserves it but I guessed the Creator still spares me for service to humanity. May His will be archive amen. Last year was quite turbulent for the people in this country especially on the Plateau where everything appeared to work against the peace and welfare of the people. Life is unbearable due to excruciating hardship occasioned by self styled opinionated leadership that concentrated on mundane sentiments at the expense of development. Hunger kills people on the Plateau more than any epidemic in human history. Our civilization as pacesetters had not only be compromised but abandoned for a primitive political ideology that patronized dynasty. It is sad to note that while human society advances towards social pluralism, we have the evolution of philosophy of superiority of race where state resources had been cornered for building a Hitler style nazi political community. At the centre of this is a leader who enjoyed the goodwill of the people under democracy even when he contested he own nothing except the public trust entrusted on him. The pastor turned political monster is quite powerful that nobody even the church he used can term him. In fact, any dissident opinion is considered a threat and accordingly ascribed the status of enemy of the state while every force is mobilized to crush it. Who created this political monster and where did we missed our steps as a people? When the people of Isreal abandoned God for material patronage with worship of wealth God sent Jeremiah to warn them but Jeremiah was not only rejected but was subjected to all forms of humiliation including throwing him into the well. At the end Isreal was destroyed while the people were taken into captivity but for Jeremiah God spared him to witnessed the period of their capacity, he then wrote the book of Lamentations in the Bible to chronicle that epoch. Of course there were whistle blowers who saw the Nebuchadnezzar age coming on the Plateau. When the emperor was building the machine of tyranny they shouted but what did they get? Some of us were even taken to court with so many assassination attempts on our lives. We were referred to as anti christ, enemies of the state, sale out, agents of the caliphate or boko haram etc. we were castigated for opposing the messiah. Who were you to dare the anointed redeemer. Sai baba, bada Wasa, sai baba sai da zuchiya, this was the jingles all over the land. Can any body sing it today? The Church as an institution played a fundamental role in creating the monster because apart from manipulating religion to campaign for him, he was anointed as the redeemer where anointing oil was used to hand out the destiny of the state to him through coronation. Thereafter state resources were diverted to promote ethnic chauvinism and bigotry within the ranks and file of the clergy. At this point the gospel of Christ was replaced by Ghana must go advocates. Instead of preaching love, hatred was marketed with maximum zeal consequently peace and harmony eluded us. After entrenching himself, the redemption apostle manifested his true agenda which is the redemption of his family and not plateau. He booted out all his praise singers who brought him to power and appointed his biological son heir apparent. All prominent personalities were reduced to mere beggars who bow before his son for favour. Those who cannot cope relocated to Abuja and other cities. Payment of salaries became a privilege while award of contracts became birth right of close family members. As it is today anybody who can boast of #500,000 amongst the so called elites must bow to the idol of the emperor. We are all casualties only left with mourning and grumbling. Now that we have surrendered our destinies to the redeemer and he has anointed another successor what do we do? Are we prepared for a paradigm shift to liberate our selves and children from bondage? Are we committed to resist collecting money which we are used to and sacrifice for a better society? To me, I am yet to be convinced that all the clamouring for change is sincere. Yes there is bitterness about leadership rotation but what happens if the clamouring for zoning is archived? Are we demanding for radical leadership change or replacing one form of evil with another? Sincerely I sympathize and stand with Plateau people in their current political predicaments but every society deserve its type of leadership. All that is happening did not started today instead of listening to the voices of reason we blackmailed them for our selfish interests. Therefore, we are architects of our undoing but for me I will die with my finger up fighting injustice. If we are committed to change then the take off point is to turn away from our hypocritical way of praising evil men and look up to God with determination that never again shall this happen to us. He is a merciful God He will listen and destroy this evil political system we collectively created. May God help us all. Happy New Year.
