THERE IS NO FEAR OF THE FUTURE WHEN THE FUTURE IS WELL KNOWN: The young ones are shortsighted but the older ones are eternity-sighted. There is a thing about getting older, that is, as age reluctantly marches on, howbeit very slowly, eternity looms large and imminent. There is no looking forward to in excitement but just the looking backward reminiscing of what life was and could have been played out in long past years. The young cannot wait to grow older for the freedom mostly to do the immoral kind but most older ones spend their days regretting the immoral things done in the past wishing the wiser. The young cannot wait to start but the older ones dont want to depart. Yet there is something welcoming about aging and that is, there is no more living this weary life of woe but the peace and rest for those who know the One who is the REST. Some older ones carry on the same till dead thinking there is nothing ahead, whilst others fear the unknown all alone when dead. However, many like me, know what is ahead after dead and the joy of knowing where I am going. There is an eternal future when all the living here is done and by grace of God and the loving merit of Christ, I will enter into the presence of my God and Savior in the sweet by and by.
